Goal and Card game A new game based on Pompey and Saints matches: A game of two halves you might say, as there are two things to predict and two lots of points up for grabs: Your tasks are as follows: Predict the time in minutes of the first goal in each Pompey and Saints match. Points will be awarded as follows [based on the report on the BBC site] Spot on = 100 points +/- 5 mins = 75 points +/- 10 mins = 50 points +/- 15 mins = 25 points +/- 20 mins = 10 points Over 20 mins but in the correct half = 5 points Goals scored in stoppage time will be deemed to have been scored after 45 or 90 minutes. If the first goal is a Pompey or Saints goal in the respective match the scores are doubled. In the event of a 0-0 draw no points are scored. Predict the total number of disciplinary points in each match, following these ctiteria: Straight Red = 5 points. Yellow then red [regardless if the 2nd is a 2nd yellow or straight red] = 3 points. Yellow Card = 1 point. Points will be awarded as follows [based on the report on the BBC site] Spot on = 100 points +/- 1 = 75 points +/- 2 = 50 points +/- 3 = 25 points +/- 4 = 10 points +/- 5 = 5 points I will list the fixtures involving Pompey and Saints for the month and it will be up to you whether you enter your entire monthâs entry in one go or do them ad-hoc. I will aim to update the scores/tables on a weekly basis or thereabouts. Example entry: A 19/6 B 6/10 C etc D etc This indicates that you think the 1st goal will be after 19 minutes and there will be 6 disciplinary points for Match A and 6 minutes/10 disciplinary points for Match B I WILL POST OCTOBERâS GAMES ON A SEPARATE THREAD PS - You don't have to be a Pompey or Saints fan to join in!

If we take this as a dry run and have Everton v saints as Match A and Pompey v Scunny as Match B: A scores 100* + 0 = 100 B scores 75 + 5 = 80 * 7 mins out scores 50, but doubles as it was a Saints goal. That's the dry run folks. No entries as yet for the real thing. I hope there's enough interest for this to go ahead.
