Breaking news on the OS.... Bristol Rovers are pleased to announce that Mike Turner has joined the Board of Directors in a non- executive capacity. Mike is an international mergers and acquisitions lawyer, based in London, and he spends a great deal of time overseas. Mike worked with the Al Qadi family when they took over the club; “I know the family very well and have been to every home game since the takeover. I live in Cheltenham and I know the area, and the stadium, very well, having watched Rovers and Bristol Rugby club play at The Mem on a number of occasions.” Mike was accompanied by two of his five children last Saturday when he saw Rovers clinch promotion to League One. He said; “We are now very much a Rovers supporting family, and happy to be so!” The duties of a non-executive director are, it seems, many and varied; “I will be helping with all aspects of the business of the Football Club as we move forward. There are many ongoing projects, as you know, including the new stadium and I will be on hand to offer help and advice whenever I can. These are exciting times and this is a terrific football club, one almost without parallel in terms of local support. I watch Gloucester Rugby Club a lot and Rovers reminds me so much of them in terms of how much of a community club they are. Bristol Rovers have a manager in place who has done an amazing job with his squad and I really believe that this is a club that can go places.” http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news...-mike-turner-3105704.aspx#kCY68zMOW2JOdrEs.99
