So, what do we think of this? http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-13113148-detail/story.html?
suprising as I thought our business was done and dusted, but to be honest, a little more competition back there couldn't be a bad thing.
Ayala a yella? Should Ayala be the next yella He sounds like half-decent fella, He´s young and he´s keen And no-one´s yet seen How much wine he can pull from the cellar. Wait and see fellas, wait and see.
I think if this was to happen which I would very happy about then I think wards injury could be worse than first anticipated...
I would agree that the only reason for this to even be considered is if the injuries to Ward, Martin and Drury were more problematic than first thought. However, even with these injuries on board there is still two places for each position if you think about it: left back - Tierney and Naughton (and Lappin) centre back - Whitbread, Bennett and DeLaet right back - Naughton and Korey (Lambert did suggest a while back that he thought that would become Korey's best position) Plus it isn't in keeping with Lambos policy of permanent signings of hungry young English players although if there is any truth in it perhaps Dani has put in a good word?
If there is any truth to this rumour, I would imagine Lambert saw that Hull only had to offer 850k to get him and thought he couldn't turn that deal down. Also, I would imagine that a certain other young spaniard from Liverpool would have had something to do with him joining us and not Swansea.
This looks like an excellent signing if true, but I agree with ChrisAcle that it would probably mean one of our players has a many-months injury. I really hope its not R. Martin, but if he is out for a long time then signing another CB would free De Laet up to act as cover for RB. Seems more likely to relate to an injury to Ward tho. The other possibility is of course that this is all some agent led speculation trying to get Hull or Swansea to up their transfer and/or contract offer!
Why can't he be being brought in as extra cover? He is only 20 and will only play if needed and maybe the Carling Cup. If we get him, it doesn't mean one of our other defenders is going to be missing for a long period, after all there has been absolutely no rumour or news about any long term injury in the squad.
We dont have to up our offer. We offered £850K and it was accepted by Liverpool then some ba'tard premiership team gazumped us. Our own fault,, we should have had him sewn up before now. he's not tried in the premiership so i cant tell you what he;s like. Is a decent championship defender tho.
