Hilario has signed a one-year extension to his current Chelsea contract. The 35-year-old goalkeeper's contract would have run out this summer but he will now spend a sixth season at Stamford Bridge, having so far made 33 starts and four substitute appearances in his role as one of the keepers supporting Petr Cech. Last season Hilario played one game, the Community Shield match against Manchester United at Wembley. In March 2010 he made his one appearance for the Portugal national side. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2375452,00.html
Im not entirely sure why we offered him a new deal especially as he doesnt get on the bench most games... i think rhys taylor is better than him
Anyone know how many playing minutes he had last term...? I think even I was ahead of him in those stats
"Last season he played just one game - in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester United in the Community Shield at Wembley." Just answered my own question...didn't realise he was 35 mind
Hilario & Ross Turnbull...not even worth Cechs gloves to be honest. We are ****ed if he gets injured this season
Hilario is good backup season, contary to reports whenever he has been called upon to deputise for Cech has put in good solid performance. I long for the day when Cech gets to break hunts leg! , that piece of scum deffo put his knee delibrately intgo him, accident my butt!
Maybe this deal has been done with a view to getting him involved with the coaching staff ? He's probably taken a pay cut and he may well like it here lol so it doesn't bother me particularly.
