We were well pleased, as I guess you were too
With a good 17th of September,
And although so much of this league is still new
We´re looking like fully fledged members

Mid-table all three, with wins to our name
Can´t be bad at this early stage,
Sometimes as we know in this beautiful game
That first win can well take an age

And okay, we know it´s unlikely to last
If those so-called experts get their way,
But how often have they been wrong in the past
When predicting who´ll win on the day

We´re all having fun, and forcing one or two
Of those punters to go eat their words,
We´re not getting pummelled each week, black and blue
Neither hoops nor the swans or the birds

And when we should meet, well a share of the spoils
I suppose could be well on the cards,
We´re learning each week through our labours and toils
What it takes to come up with rewards

So that was a Day of the T´riffics, alright
Where the new boys showed that we are here,
We´ve already ruffled some feathers on sight
And we´ve proved that we´ve nothing to fear

Let´s enjoy the ride and upset a few more
On our journey between now and May,
And see if we can´t cause a bit of furore
At that time, by prolonging our stay.

My bad head's just got worse
    On reading RBF's arty-farty verse
We all know he loves Norwich
And for breakfast I had Porwich

I wondered where you´d got to
And just how did your lot do,
    3-0 to me
    Sounds quite easy
Were W. Brom in a hot stew?

..and shouldn't it be New Boys' Day (plural)..

I should also point out that royalbarclayfan wanted Reading to beat us at Wembley :(

Getting a bit petty in your old age aren´t you, ;) and yes I was rooting for Reading, so what, doesn´t mean I can´t appreciate how the three of us new boys have started.

Good to see it put in a bit of verse... interestingly different. Makes a nice change from silly wums and mindless one line retorts.

However, the message is pertinent enough. Rs, Canaries and Swans all did themselves proud yesterday - more so remembering the critics who said last year's Championship was weak. All three clubs delivered a combined kick up the arse to the lesser prem clubs. Let's just hope we can sustain that kind of form eh?

Having said that, not much chance we'll be taken lightly hereafter...

I am hopeful we will take many more teams by surprise on our travels as we did last season and adopt the best form of defence is to attack <ok>
