Afternoon all. Thought I would make a blog, There are a few good ones out there at the moment so though I would hopefully join them. Here is my first blog. Its about me. As I say on there it won't be the most exciting blog ever made but you can read how my city life started and how I was actually a Bristol Rovers "fan" before I was a city one. http://shinycitylad.blogspot.co.uk/ Hope you all enjoy, Leave a comment if you did read it, I promise the others won't be as boring/long as this one Cheers
Cheers shiny, enjoyed reading that, keep up the good work. Only a few of my mates follow city so it always good to be able to follow stuff and debate on the web
Nice read, thanks Shiny- My very first game funnily enough was at Eastville. My next door neighbour took me to watch the Gas beat Halifax 2-0.(1970). I moved to Patchway from Knowle when I was 6 and grew up surrounded by Gasheads at school. I did have one close friend at the time, and when I proudly told his Dad that I had been to my first game he was horrified and demanded my presence with him and his son the following Saturday at Ashton Gate. Unknown to me at the time, City had been on a long winless run (nowhere near as long as our current one) and met Norwich. John Galley put us 1-0 up after 2 minutes and 3 more goals followed in the 2nd half for an entertaining 4-0 win. That was it. The die had been cast and now despite living in Devon, still regularly go, now dragging my Scottish wife with me who I have converted, though I am having some difficulty motivating her at the moment and sometimes with my son, now 28 who was given little choice in who he was to support growing up. City have been through a lot since then, and the current situation is nothing really new or comes as any surprise any longer. I do wish for better times soon though
Cheers gdknac I think when you go to your first city game. If they win it sucks you in and you want to go all the time. Which is why I feel sorry for all the young uns going down now for their first game. It won't really entertain them and make them want to watch city!
That's very true. My lads first game was a 2-2 draw with Oldham. We let twice, Wayne Allison getting both of the goals. That was entertaining enough for him to keep going.
Shiny - You are a good egg. That's twice I've told you. Can you explain why, besides being Victor, I don't get F/B, Tweeting, or writing a blog about oneself.
Thanks guys To be fair RP I only wrote about myself as a chance to have a go at writing my first blog, Just wanted to see what it would look like and how easy it was to use. I have just recently made a new blog about Keith Millen. It's here if you wish to read it - http://shinycitylad.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/keefs-journey.html
Good read, and well presented You just need to remember that I is always a capital, so go back and write it again please.
Cheers mate Thanks ROD. I'll try and remember. Usually the computer does it for me. Must not work on that blog format
Very good Shiny, everyones right, You are a nice kid.. Sorry to read about your Dad mate, but he managed to leave you a good person and it shines through.. so you picked a good user name.. Lucky escape with the Rovers though...
Interesting read Shiny...keep it up. Where in Bemmy did you live mate? I was a bemmy boy 'till we moved over to Walesland. I can remember walking to the ground with the old man or sometimes hearing a cheer from my house. I lived in Cotswold road, off st Johns lane.
