Another new appointment? Could the takeover story be happening?

Another nobody to go with the nobody in as CEO.
Not the appointments of a mega rich takeover group in my opinion. We are marooned with Donald!

Could not agree more mate. Looking at it just at face value, it is a beneficial appointment so that is good. Looking at it from a possible takeover taking place, seems strange.

Think we are going to have to stick with SD tbh and I think he will give his all in an effort to get this club moving in the right direction. Maybe its time to get behind him and give him some support, we are where we are, not because of him, but by what came before.

Its strange like, two appointments I don’t think you would Make unless Thes been a decision and a clear idea who the owners are going to be, but starting to look like Donald’s in it for the long hall

    That's 2 extra wages at a time when we'll lose half a million ...

... other clubs in the lower leagues are ditching staff and players.

    Summats up ....

Thought the last podcast was a decent listen. One thing that really struck a chord with me was that we are divided as a fan base because we have no real idea what the plan is for the club. This being another example.

The 'extra wages' aren't an issue I imagine. We're not losing enough because of this to panic and stop trying to get better, which puts us in a better position than most. If we lose between 100-500k spread over 3 months, it's not a cataclysmic event. Donald has the money to take that hit.

For example, if this guy is on 40k, hell cost around £3600 a month. It's peanuts. The CEO will be low paid by most standards, but even if he's on 100k the cost to us will be less than 10k a month. That's the equivalent of a single low end first team player, which is a bargain considering they play a massive role in running the club.

I'd expect (and hope for) more business as usual. I don't think Donald is financially encumbered by CV19.

I wonder if this is the start of an opportunist move by FPP or new investors. Just like you can pick up good value when the stock market is at a low.

There are going to be good players available in the summer if we can afford them and others can't.

Could we get more younger players in with championship potential? They can then grow with us rather than needing to be replaced if we get promoted.

The Scunthorpe owner had said they'll lose a minimum of £650k. Wasn't Rodwell on £200k when he was there ...

    ... that's not peanuts.

Losing half a million may not be cataclysmic but its hardly insignificant and voiding the season would mean a third L1 season and no parachute money.

That's two seasons longer than planned for and Donald can't keep just sustaining these hits indefinitely.

The signs are, imo, that he's sure of financial backing ...

... I doubt that he'd be doing these things alone when no-one knows what happens next.

Called him out about this a number of times. Pessimistic people always claim to be realistic. Yet they’re no more realistic than optimistic people.

just glad I’m optimistic as if I was that bloke I’d have jumped off the bridge by now!! Over the concrete too

in all reality, I know little about either appointment. I know the new CEO has left a trail of misery mind!!

'The realists' said, season after season, that we'd be relegated from the PL.

When they were proved wrong, season after season, they never accepted that their reality was incorrect ...

... yet they were shouting from the rooftops when they eventually got it right.

It's the easiest game in the world to play, and they always fall back on
'no one's more pleased than me to be proved wrong, we're all Sunderland supporters so let's not argue' <doh>
