So then. Who would like to see the now very common electronic boards or would you prefer to stay traditional & loyal to the more local sponsors with the smaller boards. ?? I personally find the electronic boards distracting & prefer to see the names of the the local butcher & greengrocer around the ground
To be quite honest, without sounding rude, I'm not really bothered, funnily enough, about the advertising boards around the pitch. I'm more interested in what's on the pitch.
I, too, find the electronic ones quite distracting, but I don't care too much. Whichever brings in more income.
Advertising at pitch side has always been a problem for me with my H&S hat on. It will not be long before a player or a ball ball gets a nasty injury falling over them.
Saints are going to be converting to electronic advertising boards this season as they have a much higher revenue yield
Of the options, I picked NO. But the fact is, I don't really like advertising at all, though the traditional boards did not distract the attention. On the rare occasion when I've watched a match with electronic boards, I've found them really distracting and far too bright. I wouldn't mind betting the players get distracted too. As far as I can make out, all they do is alienate those that object to them and distract almost everybody. I suppose one would get used to them, but then they would serve the purpose no better than traditional boards, because supporters would once again ignore them. I suppose Saints converting to electronic boards is inevitable.
I find them distracting. But then who are we to complain if they're bringing in enough money to help pay for decent players?!?! Like the Sky money(or more importantly the influence that that money buys), nobody likes it but the rewards far outweigh the downsides.
I find them distracting, but will mainly affect people with low level seats. They are tolerable if they change infrequently...remember when introduced one particularly annoying one had a car running round the pitch...that was bad. They are part of PL life. Some fans basically want no money earning advertising round the pitch, cheap seats, no fans welcomed unless they have a long history of Saints-watching, and none of that nasty Sky money, but also want expensive players. Balance those books!
I find them very distracting and they should not be on during play, but I suppose that defeats the object of the exercise?
