The man who was the swimming baby on Nirvana’s iconic album cover for Nevermind is now suing the band and others who were involved in the photograph claiming it broke child pornography laws and he has suffered mentally because of it. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/musi ... y-1216672/ Ffs mate get a grip of yourself imagine been able to tell everyone you were the front cover of a Nirvana Album
How could they get consent from a baby? Surely they had the consent of his parents? Shouldnt he be suing them?
Imagine being 30 years old and the only money making ability you have, the only tangible skill, is that your mum tossed you into a pool before you were 1 years old.
The parents took $200 for the shoot, so they knew one of the photo's would be used, they should have asked for a royalty for every album sold, their fault. I think most of us would still be dining out for free on the back of it, plus the right PR, would be comfortably off now. Perhaps that's the problem, the realisation they've dropped a bollock and now trying to make up for it.
Imagine having such an ego that you imagine every photo ever taken of you is sexual. Even when you were a baby.
He's going for $150,000 from each of the 15 defendents which is $2,250,000, way off 30m. If he does win on the ****phile angle, then shouldn't the parents be prosecuted for allowing their child to be used in such a way.
Exactly. As well as every music store in history that has displayed the CD case, and every person in history who has purchased that poster. It's ridiculous
Should be a nice little earner for every baby that bared a bottom on a nappy advert. I can't really see them setting that precedent but would be funny if they did.
The thing is, if he were really traumatized by it, and it was really ruining his life, like he claims, he wouldn't be posing for reenactments of the photoshoot every few years. The fact that he keeps recreating the shoot shows that it doesn't really bother him. What bothers him is that he isn't being paid for it.
Ok... You want to know why he is really suing them: Revenge because they snubbed him. He thinks because he was on their album cover he must be a big deal. It's a case of a giant ego. He's not as important to them as he thinks he should be. They (quite rightly) don't think he is an important part of their success.
He’s trying it on, and the case deserves to be thrown out of court because his lawyers decided to go for the bullshit child abuse angle. I wouldn’t blame him for trying to rinse a few bob out of the record company. After all, that photo has been everywhere, for years. It’s not the record company he’s suing though, it it? It’s the musicians, who if history is anything to go by, probably got screwed by the record company themselves.
Of course he is, they couldn't sing, couldn't play, the lyrics only made sense (possibly) to heroin addicts. The only reason it did well is because every **** in the world bought it to **** over the baby on the cover.
