Never thought I'd see the Norwich non-penalty of last season trumped for incompetence

Wonder what the excuse will be this time? His reputation? Racism in the past? He's officially an outlaw whom you can elbow in the throat and whip up in the box three yards from the watching referee?

No matter, the likes of Lawton, Samuel, Holt et all will still be making excuses for Webb tomorrow, the ****ing yellow coward.

It summed up webs performance that he then made an even worse 'non-decision' with the table on Suarez by eto!
How he is rated the best referee in the premier league is beyond me. There was at least three tackles by Chelsea players that should/ could have been reds. 2 penaltys not given one of which was as blatant as you can get.

Add to that two more injuries and our need to strengthen becomes paramount. Don't think these two defeats are too damaging BUT we need a positive run of results to maintain our position. Only united to play away now of the top 8, Gerrard and Sturridge to come back hopefully by next game or two and 2/3 new signings.

Both performances this week have been very positive. I really hope that Chelsea don't win the title as they are a nasty thuggish team and boring to boot

I hope Rodgers goes absolutely mad at the refs today. Don't care if it gets him a touchline ban, this needs to be said. The sooner refs are replaced with technology, the better. They are a cancer on the game.

Don't agree with that. Performance wise today we were shocking. Created hardly anything from open play, however should have had 2 pens and been playing against 10 men for 89 minutes.

And Mourinho saying the penalty should be on Hazard, the one when he sticks his right leg out a right angle in order to get contact and thinks Suarez should have been booked for the penalty from Eto'o <laugh>. you can only laugh really.

Lets hope that today's appalling performance from Webb costs him place at the World Cup. He was poor in the last WC final (not sending De Jong off) and today just proves that he shouldn't be even doing professional football games

Well although we didn't play as well today as we did against city I still think we did enough to get a point against a thug of a team and a blatantly incompetent referee. The positiveness from today is that we didn't play as well but still should have picked up a point at one of the toughest grounds to come to to in the premiership.

It's obvious from decisions made at the bridge this season (Penalty against WBA) that Maureen has the same influence over refs as fergie did.

He's a ****house, pure and simple. Said so since he cacked himself ten yards away from an incident at OT in '09 when Pederson was through on goal and Rafeal simply dragged him back - he looked shellshocked for athree seconds, then waived play on. He is ****ing yellow, an utter, utter spineless fake who ALWAYS bottles the big decisions if they're against the home side.

    Howard Webb 2 Liverpool 0

Webb had an absolute shocker today and how Eto was still on the pitch to bring down Suarez in the box is just a complete Joke! My Chelsea mate was laughing his smug fecking face off! <grr>

You were cheated out of that today boys and Webb should be demoted for that stinker of a performance!

    Keep your heads up! <ok>

Webb's gone form Fergie's **** buddy, to Mourinho's monkey boy.

Etoo should have been off for the OTT tackle on Henderson, suarez had the **** kicked out of him. And a clearer penalty you'll not see all season as for Mourinho's post match comments, guy's a grade a roger hunt.

I'd suggest (knowing the contacts Abramovich has within the Kremlin) that our old friend Webby has just been assured of a slot to referee in the Russian WC at least <ok> He's a terrible, terrible referee who LFC should request never gets anywhere near one of our games again. I'm afraid lads (as I suggested last week) going top of the league has mysteriously coincided with the worst two refereeing performances of the season....what a surprise eh <doh>

Problem is we have fallen victim to some shocking decisions that have come in high profile games however, we all knew we were not up to the same level as city and chelsea but to lose the games how we have done is hard to stomach, coupled with other teams' results it has been a shocking christmas for us.
I hope we can turn it around on Wed but deflated at the minute.
Not going to grumble cause all teams get shocking decisions and if we concentrate on that many other fans will be on our backs. Lets just hope we come out fighting in jan.
Dont know where we are on the block of four but we cant be that far off.
Anyone know what BR said after i only caught mours interview

I thought Liverpool got a raw deal from Webb today but they have and will get favours from refs during the season. I think referring to Webb as Ferguson's, and now Mourinho's, stooge is embarrassing.

webb just did what he's ALWAYS done.

    1. never ever give a booking first half if avoidable. thus preventing and sendings off later... e'tto was a shocker. a full rake from knee down? then he let lots of our guys away with stuff and once it got to ho 10 mins form the half he made a grandeous gesture to agger over what was after all a petty letting you know i'm here type challenge on the side line. stuck up a finger saying you got your one and all that... playing the fair guy in other words

    2. minute the second half started cards were out for all sorts and nothing... splash them round and establish control

    3. blow up for absolutely everything and nothing, anyone flops give them a free.. sterling did it as did chelsea... but under no circumstances give a pen.. thats his mantra. has to be a clear full paces run chopped down for this clown to blow.

so when e'tto went in to stamp on suarez ans webb looked right at it... balls gone.. let the video panel deal with it... simple..

and howard webb marches on as the senior ref in control of yet another game.

I mean hang on LFC... johnson got a yellow for an "elbow" a yellow? if he thought it was a card at all for an elbow it should be red... but sure enough he then find JT smashed allen (totally accidentally mind, eye on ball) he has no decision as he's got an easy get out in his pocket.... this is bottling decisions left and right... no one favoured bar perhaps the home team for whoever he refs but in general its all about less decisions and whatever happens happens.

In the end how sahlo let that ball in and how the F mingloet once again managed to let on in i don't know... rank... we did it to ourselves

Just read the article and it seems a fair (if somewhat flattering to Chelsea) assessment of the game. He says the second penalty should have been given and also says that if the 'persecution' of Suarez continues by referees then it would be a shame if he were to leave to play abroad. Don't see anywhere where it says he deserves it or that it wasn't a penalty.

Webb was never going to give a penalty for an off the ball clash, as Suarez didn't have the ball & was merely chasing down the fullback when Eto'o ran across him. Webb never gives contentious decisions like that.

The Chelsea one was the player looking for it, but you see them given.

The Eto'o tackle wasn't malicious imo, but on another day (& later in the game) he might have walked for it. Don't understand why he wasn't even booked though.

Well it wouldn't be would it tobes ,but a similar tackle in last season's derby at goodison by Suarez was malicious in your opinion though.

Speaking as a qualified referee myself the law states that any challenge that endangers an opponent must be dealt with by a Red card. The truth is that Webb bottled the decision because it was too early in the game! The Laws do not mention any thing about Red Cards only being issued after a certain period of time has elapsed! As for the Suarez penalty shout you can be sure that if that incident had taken place anywhere else on the pitch Webb would have given it as a foul. The truth is that Webb completely bottled both of these decisions.

It will be interesting to see if the FA now take some retrospective action for the Eto challenges as Webb did not even caution him! A three match ban must surely follow.
