A reference that probably only our more mature readers will get....

Seems to me that yes, we whilst we do need another striker, the money would be spent on a few battle hardened, experienced defenders, the like of Clint Hill, Shaun Derry, etc - you know the type I mean...

Whilst we dominated games to such an extent that our defence was well protected last year, so far at least, it would seem that our young back line is not savvy enough to cope with the better quality strikers that we find in this division.

It is all very well saying we played well but if the opposition score every time that they put their mind to it, we are in big trouble. So far tonight, we have been picked off twice on the break and we look very vulnerable.

We need savvy defenders and quick or this season is going downhill fast...

A reborn premiershipobust? You are spot on the money here when we clearly need help to build this team to ride the challenges of the Championship. Sixty five percent of the play hasn't gained us a win or indeed a goal (as yet), so let's hope someone is on the case of fixing our obvious problems.

You knew it, and I knew it, that the squad we had last season was never going to be capable of maintaining the kind of campaign we had last time out. My biggest question is why on earth weren't the blatantly obvious cracks fixed during the summer? We knew the challenges coming our way the minute we were promoted, or even slightly earlier, and yet apparently nothing was done and that in itself concerns me. Don't wish for something if you are not prepared to get ready for the start in your new division.

Welcome back, haven't seen you on here for a long time.

I knew we would score the minute I posted otherwise. Perhaps when I go back to BBC we will have popped in a second.

There you go prem #2 pops in. They must have been waiting for me to come home and surprise me. Go figure, but at least it should keep the moaners slightly quitter than the earlier score. They couldn't possibly get the winner while I'm posting - could they?????

Alright Wiz, yep its me. I tried a pre season comeback but despite 4 emails to the site, no one would reactivate my old moniker so I had to re-join.

I was (and still am) looking forward to this season but we need a bit more nouse on the park. Either that or the boys need to step up quick like in fairness, our last League One promotion side did big time first season..

Just seen the stats on Sky - 18 attempts by us, 11 on target. Leeds not a lot

How did we only score 2 and then right at the death...?

Lubbly jubbly. I think I can take all the credit for tonight's comeback so clearly I'm a shoe in for "Supporter of the year".

well if we are creating the chances, which we are, maybe a decent striker (or two) is what we need.....not sure at that price though!

Leeds were dirty bastards, I have to say

Both goals were also questionable but a good effort to turn the ship around <cheers>

What we got away with last year - like the mistakes here and there and silly tackles, are being ruthlessly exploited and punished this season and we have to wise up pretty damn sharpish.

We clearly need more quality in most areas of the field, but we need to cut out the mistakes too. They are costing us men, goals and league points.

In this league we will face much better opposition than Leeds. That says it all.

Saturday frankly scares me as to what the final score might be.....

Couldn't believe it myself either, our strikers need to be more clinical in-front of goal, Kodjia missed a sitter on Wednesday but I'm sure he'll be much better once he's settled and I'm sure we'll be fine this season whatever happens.

    Also welcome back :)

It's amazing Prem but most of the original 606'rs have stayed together for good or bad, of course we still miss ol' natch, quite a few new members have improved us, even cjs (he never visits us anymore) and some of their malcontents still hang like bats from the gas board, not many of them.

All in all still going strong and glad to see you back amongst us.
