The hometown duo of Ryan Nelsen and Ben Sigmund will start with Tommy Smith in defence, with Nelson local and former Canterbury United striker Jeremy Brockie also injected into the team.

Glen Moss retains the gloves, as does Ivan Vicelich and Michael McGlinchey in central midfield.

West Ham United star Winston Reid will start off the bench, after missing the 2-0 win in Tahiti on Saturday due to back spasms.

Tony Lochhead and Kosta Barbarouses will operate on the left and right flank respectively with Marco Rojas and Chris Killen joining Brockie as an attacking three.

Shane Smeltz, Leo Bertos and Chris Wood drop to bench after starting in Papeete while Tim Payne is suspended after picking up his second caution of the campaign in the away match.

    New Zealand: 12-Glen MOSS (gk), 3-Tony LOCHHEAD, 4-Ben SIGMUND, 5-Tommy SMITH, 6-Ryan NELSEN (c), 8-Michael MCGLINCHEY, 10-Chris KILLEN, 11-Marco ROJAS, 15-Ivan VICELICH, 16-Jeremy BROCKIE, 17-Kosta BARBAROUSES

Substitutes (from): 1-Mark PASTON (gk), 2-Winston REID, 7-Leo BERTOS, 9-Shane SMELTZ, 13-Dan KEAT, 20-Chris WOOD

I agree; once he returns injury-free no harm done; good job the Everton game is on Sunday.
