The rumours are gathering pace that we are to sign Swansea's Neil Taylor - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/13678229.stm We all know how tight Mike Ashley is with money and we've all seen stories regarding cost cutting measures whether it be that the escalators and lights at the ground are being switched off to save Derek from sticking another quid in the 'lectric meter to players like Nolan, Barton and Jose being forced out as they are on high wages. Well the Neil Taylor deal takes the biscuit It was bad enough when Adidas were replaced with Puma (they change both kits every season because they are disposable kits and disintegrate in the wash), but it makes Ashley money as Puma produce cheaper kits and they sell at the same price. But now in an audacious effort to save even more money Ashleys latest plan is to sign a player with the name Taylor for every position, so next years new home kit can be changed so Taylor is already written on there as part of the design and anyone buying the kit has to pay the extra tenner for the name Taylor on the back even though they may not want it and Ashley makes more money because he doesn't have to pay for the letters as they are already on there because of the design. Stephen Taylor, Ryan Taylor now Neil Taylor and I've heard worrying rumours that a bid for Matty Taylor is also on the cards. Be worried people be very worried!!! Does anyone know anything about Neil Taylor? He any good? Looks like curtains for Enrique since we are trying to push this deal through does anyone think he's being signed as cover or as a first team player? It looks like it could be a fairly rapid rise from non league to Premier League I just hope we've done our homework if he's to be first choice left back next year
The Swansea fans seem to rate him as a stand-out performer for them last season. Sounds like he'd be a great signing if we get him on the cheap.
Fairly certain that the cuts to utility bills helped pay for under soil heating at the training ground so I can't fault that cost cutting initiative. As for Neil Taylor; he's supposed to be promising and if Carr says he's good enough then he's worth a try in my books.
Seem's like a very good prospect. I think this transfer window is look very very good for Newcastle and second season syndrome is definatly looking less likely by each passing day!
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_6968961,00.html It would seem we are firmly interested in him. It doesn't matter where he was playing a couple of seasons ago, if you're good enough you rise to the top. Chris Smalling was playing non-league football not so long ago...
Swansea confirmed they'd received a bid from us, and presumable it met the release clause so I can see it happening. I'll trust Carr and co if he's seen as Enrique's replacement, sounds a very good prospect.
He'll be in the Premiership no matter what next season... whereas Perch would never have played Premier League football with Forest
