Asian Player of The Year!, fantastic stuff. Great for player and club. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/34874974
Had no idea he had an Asian background , congrats to him . Seems Neil's wait on the bench while watching Ben Davis take his spot worked out for him in the long run . Still , I wish he would be a bit more aggressive moving the ball forward instead of passing back , it's his biggest flaw imo .
Yes well done Taylor, though I would second Roofer's sentiments, he needs to be more aggressive moving the ball forward, but still a well deserved recognition…………..
Well done - but Tabanou deserves his chance if Taylor passes the ball back to Williams more than twice tomorrow.

Well done on winning the award - but as the only Premier League player out of the 7 in the league and only 3 first team players, and as part of a country going to the Euros, there was no competition. I still reiterate that I don't rate Taylor in the slightest. His inability to take risks and look forward with the ball is an anchor to our play - he needs to take some tips/lessons off Rangel who still remains the most natural forward-thinking full back we've had in recent times (his link up play with Dyer in the Championship and first two seasons of the PL were a joy to watch - always looking for a midfielder/winger to pass to and then support the right wing/overlap, also fantastic at dropping a shoulder and going past someone). Taylor is unable to shoot the ball with any conviction, he's unable to dribble the ball forward with conviction, he's unable to hit a cross on the run...I'm sorry - but he's still the first name in our lineup that I want replaced...who I think we need replaced. Bit harsh...? Maybe. I'm sincere when I give congratulations for the award, it's not easy to win anything in football, but I can't let it cloud my opinion that he's nothing more than a stop-gap in our lineup and it infuriates me that he's seemingly guaranteed a starting spot every week.
He's been a stop gap for how many years ? Tabanou must really be pants not to at least to get on the bench
Did a good job in the Championship - good player at that level. As we've started to work our way up the pecking order, I just think his abilities haven't come with us. First season in the PL he was solid but nothing more - he's certainly not improved for me at all ever since being at PL level. He's still the same old 'pass-back' Taylor who can't cross consistently and can't dribble - you can deal with it when you're new to the PL, but when you consolidate, I expect us to replace the players who don't continue to improve. Who isn't challenging Neil to up his game? Is it any surprise that a kid came into the side (Ben Davies) and when Taylor returned from injury he couldn't dislodge him even months after gaining fitness? Someone needs to pull Taylor aside and tell him to watch some videos of players like G Neville, Risse, A Cole, Sagna, Kolarov, Zabaleta... These are proper all-rounder Premier League level full backs and they should be what Neil is aspiring to replicate, even if not obtaining the same success as those guys. Tabanou must really be pants? Well it would be nice to know if he is pants or not! He never gets on the pitch to even make any judgement! Not saying he's definitely better than Taylor, but it gets to me that we seem to give a bang-average player in Taylor the freedom to play as boring and negatively as he wants without even a worry of sitting out the next game. The only time Taylor has had competition from Davies, he was sat on the bench because he was found to be a lesser player. Davies contributed goals, could beat a man, and could cross on the run while also being a good defender - Taylor can defend but can't do much else. We'll likely never know how good Tabanou could have been for us, because it looks like he'll be gone in January. We monitored Tabanou for over a year, bought him after he chose us ahead of Sevilla and Kiev, and then Monk has told him he needs to "adapt his game to English football" and "sit tighter to the centre backs". Exact quotes of what Tabanou has said Monk requires of him. So not really a case of Tabanou being pants - more a case of Monk having an unadventurous philosophy that has no room for expansive, risk-taking full-backs. And that is one of the many reasons why we're quickly heading backwards at the moment. I'm cool if you disagree, that's what this is all about after all. But, to me, Taylor is a constant reminder that the current Swansea setup are happy to sit still and be content with mediocrity. Decent player, but you're only as strong as your weakest link and if we never replace him, we'll have to settle for being decent and nothing more.
Doesn't say a lot for Asia. Probably a decent squad player but the idea of such a limited fullback being first choice for a Premier League team would be funny if we weren't the unfortunates involved.
You mean "British " Asian player . Taylor is pretty good defensively , but he sure doesn't enhance Montero 's ability , passing backwards all the time. Would really like to see Tabanou's ability but he will probably , mutually , move on in the window.
