According to todays mercury Leeds want to take Neil Danns on loan

With Drinkwater, King, James and Wellens about to return its not out of the question

If they want a midfielder they can take Wellens.


Danns is still a class player and i'd be gutted if he went. He's only out of the team because of Drinkwater's and King's great form.

 

Not really surprising I guess ... a shame in that he had a real golden spell last season and was arguably the only player we had that did not look out of place against Chelsea (for the full 90 mins) ... I had him with Morgan as my 'key retains' .. but something appears to have gone wrong either in his relationship with NP or just in his post groin op form..

Danns is still our player and would only be a loan if both us and him are interested. Matt Mills turned you down last year

Seriously, absolutely not. He is possibly our best CM, just needs to win his place. Depends if he has been a dick though.

 

They are different types of players - Wellens is more of a playmaker while Danns is an attacking midfielder.

Problem is that we have King, Drinkwater and Marshall to do that role and since Danns was brought here by Sven he is probably on the wage greater than all of those combined so fair enough if he does go - being a prick on twitter might have been the final straw.

 

Its a def no for me, i like the energy Danns has, and surely he is a better option than the labourious 3 touch Wellens for gods sake

 

I wouldn't loan him out. The only player I would try and loan out would be Martyn Waghorn. We need Schlupp to cover for Konchesky or maybe Nigel sees De Laet as cover

Short term loan would be good. He's a way from being required with players in front of him so let get for 1st team action and see if better than how Drinks, James, King and Wellens start the first few months. he could come back to us in form and fit and ready.
