Whilst it is undestandable that Jermaine Beckford would receive the man of the match award for last night's hat-trick against Forest I also feel that neil danns deserves a special mention. I have been critical of Neil on previous posts, mainly because I could not recognise the player that I had always rated and who had always caused problems for us when in opposition. Last night he was at his all action best, box to box, superb. It is quite obvious that he is now fully motivated and on reflection i now believe that part of the reason for his previous poor performances this season if that he has been wasted in playing in a wide role where he was often on the peripherary of the action. More please Neil - you can become a real fan's favourite at the KP with a string of performances like that.
He was played in the right position and what a different player he was, hes put King on the bench now for me.
He was superb last night. Determined, pressed high up the field and did he box to box job brilliantly. Thoroughly deserved the shirt, the position and the win. Easily his best performance for us.
Yes, as I've said in other threads, Beckford's hat-trick owes a lot to Danns performance - he looked dangerous and worked hard. Definitely Danns over King from now on for me.
Was very busy and gave us great legs in the middle whereas maybe King and Ritchie don't really do this. Still think we need another CM though, especially with King's injury.
Wellens is not the answer proud, Danns and somebody, but def not Wellens, he has been a good servant, but has had his day, one decent performance in the last 3 months or so, def does not warrent a perm starting place for me, i see him as a bit part player from now on at best, maybe coming off the bench for the last 20 mins or so..............
