Neil Armstrong Dead.

A man among men. How can anyone match his feat? The first man on the moon.

 

What? He didn't build the spaceship on his own and fly it there, he was just the first one to get off.

And then you get hate-filled jealous ****s like ER that insult his memory by claiming man never walked on the moon

 

Looks like Buzz Aldrin is beaten into going 2nd by Armstrong again eh?

 

Toby, it isn't about who built or or paid for the mission, it's about the landing itself. Of course he was extremely lucky to be in the right palce at the right time, but that shouldn't detract from the feat. His name will live down through the ages.

 

Even the first man on mars for me won't be such a great feat as technology is so much more advanced. I have respect for what he did, far braver than anyone I will ever know.

 

Does anyone else feel sorry for the third guy who never git to land on the moon? He traveled all that way and never got to walk on the moon and then had to listen to Armstrong and Aldrin all the way home talking about how good it was.

 

Don't forget the massive balls required.

 

I wasn't being disrespectful of the acheivement, i was just pointing out that he was the one with most of the glory when there were 2 other peeps with him and a huge crew of scientists behind it.

Agree Kim. I read somewhere that 1 in 40 astronauts have been killed. Not my kind of job.

 

Aparently he was so ****ed off when told he had to stay in the craft he dropped Neil and Buzz off and ****ed off leaving then all alone on the "moon".

Luckily for them it was all done in a giant warehouse somewhere in Nebraska.
