    Morning

Having not been on this board yesterday due to being best man <diva> , I have woken up to find we have lost to Hull and all of our confidence seems to have drained.

I'v read nothing but negative posts. Come on guys! We have to have a thicker skin than that. I admit I didn't see the game, but our confidence shouldn't be that fragile.

I would argue a kick up the backside before the real football begins is probably a good thing.

Chin up, learn, and bloody move on!

    Bring on Sunderland.

    Yeah i agree.

The only negativity i've been guilty of is Carroll. Not about yesterdays match but overall. I wont go into it again but the guy doesn't come anywhere near close to the profile of a 35mil player. Hopefully, i will be proved wrong and i know it's early days so i'll live in hope <ok>

It's tough for him as he will always be looking at the price tag.

Still, he hasn't had a run in the team yet. Let that happen, then I think we should judge.

You played ****e, but the fact is it's only a pre-season game. That flight back from Asia just a few days ago probably took its toll on a sizeable section of the players. Also, Reina, Gerrard and Suarez, 3 of your top 5 players, didn't feature and it was pretty obvious you were missing something going forward.

In fairness we played very well and looked solid all round. Adam changed the game by bringing some control into the midfield (Poulsen wasn't doing that to great effect), Downing brought some genuine width and I liked the look of the kid Flanagan at right-back.

3-0 flattered us - I certainly wouldn't be concerned if I was an LFC fan <ok>

Thanks for that! Calmed the nerves a little. You reckon you will get promoted next year?

Let's be honest. You cannot play 2 different 11's and expect any sort of real cohesion. What we do not know is what individual players were tasked to do during the match. It was clear from the off that it was a practice match - no real challenges, no real runs, etc.

Well done to Hull, they looked ahead of us in their preperation.

I hope so - tough league though, Sven has been flashing the cash at Leicester, West Ham still have the best squad in the division, and then you have Forest, Birmingham, Cardiff, Reading & Southampton who are all commendably strong contenders for promotion. I think we might just miss out on the top six

I'd be delighted if you lads made the top 4 (especially if you keep Arsenal out), how do you rate your chances next season?

Yeah i totally agree. My main concern is about his lack of pace, lack of good first touch, no vision. I do realise this comes with match fitness, and im looking forward to him improving. I just think Suarez and Kuyt up front would be a much better option.

    Dave.
    Spot on.
Plus most of that is a provisional squad as such. There is at least 5 players still missing and Skrtel and Mereiles weren't part of that squad yesterday, and I also think Agger didn't feature.I'm not worried about Andy Carroll,I'll tell you why,as soon as he develops an understanding with Adam and Downing,he's going to be unstoppable.

Seen £80m Ronaldo look like £8.

How much for Rooney at the World Cup last year?

Carroll was bought for the future, not to deliver £35m's worth in a warm-up.

As long as we don't go into the season with a sub keeper behind a back four picked out of a hat we won't have too many Hulls.

Downing, Henderson and Adam all looked positive, which is what we needed.

It seems the players on the exit list were the ones lacking most effort. Notable that Aqua is one who actually wants to go if possible and he's been the most industrious. Are the deadwooders not trying because they actually want to stay for an Owenlike glory hunt with a big wage? Maybe their agents have suggested it to put off any potential buyers.

How much for Rooney at the World Cup.I reckon you would expect change out of 10p.
However you cannot judge players in pre-season kick-abouts.There was less tackling done there yesterday than Michael Carrick does in an entire season.Anyway.Andy Carroll didn't set the fee,And Roman Abramovich paid for him,as we screwed him for a £30 million profit on El Nono.

Agree B4F, you wont see negative worrywart comments from myself on here yesterday.

I am finding it a little silly considering everythng. When Kenny took over it was a 3-5 year plan, now all of a sudden we're lookin to win the league this year? I'd be very happy with Champions league football next season.

I must admit i fully agree with you except for one point. Carroll was bought for the future, but also for NOW as otherwise why would we break the bank last minute in January and pay over double what someone is worth. Surely if he was bought for the future we would of waited?

I was being Negative yesterday because it's our first game with the new players in England, and we botched it up completely. I am well aware we were missing people etc.. but I still feel Poulson, Ngog etc let us down.

There is little or no chance that Poulson will play next season, but just having him at the club is a legacy Hodgson left behind and I want him gone. I personally want Kenny to shift out all those who aren't good enough, without mercy and just start again.

I'm not feeling too negative about next season, but I feel people are getting too carried away with how far we can go next season. We still need a LB and a backup striker, and ideally I'd want a better defender in to cover for Carra over some of the season because I'm not sure it's wise having him play every game.

We have a good chance of getting into the top 4, but let's not kid ourselves that it's going to be easy or that we should be challenging for the title. We're not there yet.

Lets give Andy Carroll 2 years and if he doesn't work out,we can sell him on.I reckon we wouldn't lose all that much considering that Sunderland got £24 million for Darren Bent who was 27 at the time,Andy Carroll will be 24,and I reckon we would get at least £26 million back on him if not more.

I think a lot of fans were disgusted with our first half display, the 2nd half was a good display for a pre-season game.

I still think we'll win the league so not negative.

I don't think we'll win the league, but we're going to be in far better shape than we were this time last summer.
I reckon we're 4 players short of being champions.Everything else is in place. We've got the desire and the confidence,we are managed(unlike Man City) correctly.
My view that we'll be champions within 3 years still stands.

Comas do the board a favour and don't carry your argument on with KPR to other threads just because the Beckham one got closed.

    Cheers <ok>
