All just got back from taking my dad to game for his 79t birthday I am one of the most optimistic fans here, we had a lovely time - however second half - the fans behind me were constantly on pelle back's I did challenge them - could you score that header etc etc response was I am a plasterer I plaster walls, I don't get $50K a week, he should be able to do yadha yadha etc etc I am getting fed up with fans , picking at the team, rather than supporting We are 6th for FFS in a top league - what do the fans want Rant over - fed up!
Totally agree ! Thought Pelle had a good game, just lacked that goal but it will come, you can see how much the team want him to. Heck I wamt him to!
I'm sorry we dropped some points and have made it hard for ourselves, but I still don't get angry at the players. They have been brilliant...you only have to look at the teams we are in competition with to see how far we have come. I rank us with Liverpool, Spurs and a poor (probably just for now) United...in the past we'd have killed to be compared with West Ham and Newcastle.
Twas ever thus, wasn't it [?] to criticise players unjustly. In the past 5 years we've gone from Harding to Pelle with perhaps half-a-dozen players inbetween. Some supporters will only see mistakes simply because they're easy to spot and simply because that's what floats their boat. I don't quite understand why they feel the need to do it. One can have perhaps not the best opinion of a player, back in the pub afterwards, but still support that player. But there you go. It takes all sorts. BTW, I'm probably up there in the optimism area with you.
Agree - I thought Pelle played pretty well today, a 7/10 for me. The one that hit the bar - I think partly becuase he's lacking confidence he took it early so hit it when the ball was still high, so slightly less control of it. Had he waited another second, he'd have scored it (like his goal at West Ham away) But for me the stand out thing with Pelle is that he is gettting chances. Prime example is his diving header in 2nd half. Other players in the league wouldn't have tried for it, and so wouldn't have been critisied for missing the chance. He tried, and was unlucky.
People will know that I have been critical of Pelle on the forum recently, but I never ever boo him. Today I heard a lot of booing and I detest that. I thought he played well, just lacked the right sort of scuff in front of goal. His hold up play was much better today.
To be fair, whilst there were some morons the vast majority were singing his name throughout today. He looked short on confidence early in but got stronger as the game went on. A good reaction from him to be dropped last week.
I am all for freedom of speech and that everyone is entitled to their opinions. But I do not get the senseless barracking of individuals when they are going through a bit of a rough time. I do understand frustrations if a player isn't committed and plays for the money with a lack of interest. There is no way any supporter could say that about anyone in the current squad. You can see every game the passion, determination and desire to perform and win each match. So let's just support them through any dip in form and they will come out of it quicker and we will all be happier. Anyway enough of this, who was better- wanyama or cork
I'm sure I saw him lurking in the 6 yard box waiting to tap in Bertrand's cross if Shackell had missed it!
What everyone has to remember is that there are a load of complete, utter, intolerable ****ers that also "like" football. The sad part of human nature is that generally the thick ones are the loudest.
From my position in Kingslad/Northam corner, Graz was getting a lot of encouragement with a number of songs to keep his chin up
I really, really feel for Pelle. It isn't as if he is nowhere near and hopeless...he is a bare inch from a mass of goals. He is suffering as only an Italian can suffer.
