The mags getting twatted by the bin-dippers is all very well, but we need another 3-4 points before we are safe. A point at Villa and a win against either Stoke or Soton will do the trick. But we have to get them first! Paolo's doing a sterling job ATM and I don't really think we'll have a problem. But whilst the mags may have ****ed up today, they still probably only need one more win to stay up and if we lose at Villa, we'll be right back in it with them. Stoke winning may have done us a favour, as their players will now relax a bit and hopefully lose a bit of focus in the process. Still squeaky bum time, but at least we have a fired-up manager at the helm, rather than a dead man walking...
No gloating here. Lots of mirth and laughter though. That was the most laughable and embarrassing "team" performance I have seen for a long time. Damn! I am gloating!!!!!!! And long may it last. Tough game against Villa no doubt about it, definitely isn't going to be a foregone conclusion. The self belief the players are showing now, is unbelievable compared to a few short weeks ago. I still fancy we have enough to take them, but will quite happily accept a draw.
That last relegation place could be filled by anyone under 37 points at the minute - smashing end to season after today's result. So long as we do not lose to Villa we have the best set of fixtures to avoid it. Shaping up nicely for us.
No one is gloating just laughing at the skunks getting absolutely slaughtered at home AGAIN. Its funny as ****. If we get beaten 6-0 at Villa they can come back and do likewise.
Fair enough, but the usual suspects will probably still be in hiding trying to erase the derby defeat.
I don't wanna gloat but I do wanna ridicule. The grief we have had over the season, lots of their fans suggesting champions league football is the next step blah blah. So them getting some **** over the last few weeks suits me fine.
ditto. It`s expected they`ll be hoping we get a hammering at Villa to return some. If we do win of course then I might treat myself to a small gloat. Until we are safe for certain don`t want to tempt fate.
yup. divent count our chickens just yet, but a result at villa (even a draw would do), with stoke and saints at home should be enough to get us safely above 40 points. i'm hoping we push on right through with 3 more wins pre-spurs, and why not? i'd be worried if i was a Mag though, as their only points game is away at QPR where owt could happen, and 38 points may not be enough with their goal difference. i can see wigan and norwich on 39 points, villa on 38. it could come down to goal difference.
You can bet your bottom dollar (or pound) that Paolo and his #2 has spent every night watching Villa's past games, tearing apart their team to find weaknesses to exploit, and getting the team in to study them aswell. I have a feeling this is something that Marty himself didn't do, but left it to the like of Walton etc, who from the looks of it was **** at it. Im confident that we will go into this match very well prepared, and with having a a bit longer off, the players will be a bit more refreshed, and will have been training hard - both physically and mentally. With PDC, i have never felt more confident that this has been happening.
Aye, QPR down, nothing to play for, pressure off. Could be a bit naughty that one. I can see how a win for us at Villa would help our dear neighbours and, if it happens, I`m sure they will be all over this board expressing their good wishes and thanks.
