I can not but worry about this....It would be typical of Ned to be up for this....but he hasn't even played a full game yet for the u23. If this ends in tears; losing the game and losing Ned for the whole season....I told you so.

So we started the season with 9 players that could play central defender (Ned, Hall, Lynch, Baptiste, Robinson, Perch, Bidwell, Furlong, Caulker) and at this moment we have 2 fit (Robinson and Bidwell, neither of whom were out and out CDs). Now that is nearly unbelievable

We are not appealing against the Mackie red card...so no chance of getting it reassessed to 10 match ban...soorry lads

IMO Ned can't come back soon enough. He completed 60 minutes in a reserve match on Wednesday with no ill effects. Both he and the medical team must have assessed the situation on a weekly basis. I trust they have made the right decision. We have GOT to sort out our defence and Ned coming back is a huge step in the right direction.

Ned and Robinson may well be the best pairing until/if our best CB comes back (I don't mean Caulker!).

I'd say Robinson has become our best CB. He and Hall together would be class.

Agreed. Hall and Robinson probably the best when all fit imo. Although we could play Ned and Hall and put Robinson in instead of Bidwell, as he's approximately 1,000 times a better player than Bidwell imo.

Hall is back in full training and will either make it into the team soon or will have to have an operation if he breaks down again...

In my opinion, Bidwell has been solid all season. I don't know what else is expected of him as a left back. Agree that Hall and Robinson look to be the future. So why move Robinson from centre back , when he looks so good and enjoys playing there.

Because, as I said, I think Bidwell is very poor. It's not his fault he's had to play CB on occasions, but he's rarely at left back. Ollie thinks he's a wing back!

Agree Bidwell has defended solidly all season, and gets in a decent cross or 2. Don't know if we are going to use 3 5 2 again after the last 2 games, but I think Robinson would make a better wing back, as well as being one of our bests CB''s now.

Bidwell is a solid but quite slow defender at this level. I'm better than him on the ball!
