Well we are nearly at the January window and almost half way through the season, so how are we doing.
I think we have done ok. After the cock up in the summer transfer window and the tough run of fixtures at the beginning of the season, I feared the worst and that we may be struggling near the bottom come this time of year. I certainly think that just 5 points off 4th is a decent effort from a very thin squad.
Sure there have been some poor performances ( not too many) but with a bit more luck from refs, a couple of penalties that were dead Certs (or uniteds one that wasn't) and a couple of defensive howlers we would have been right in the mix.
Lets hope for a couple of decent signings this January and if we are in a fight for top 4 come April then I will be reasonably content.

considering we only really had Luis to score our goals we have done brilliantly i would say.

we need some better attacking options for our bench, too many defensive players for my liking, hope Brendan is on the case.

I pretty much agree with the OP - yes any team can bleat on about decisions but we have had some crucial ones cost us.

My biggest worry is how stretched we seem when we lose possession. Reina has not been at his best but I would attribute some of this to the amount of action he has faced - every time we lose possession the opposition look dangerous.

Given our poor summer - I'm happy enough.

Stoke and QPR away before the window opens. I think the current 5 point gap, may be a lot closer to 10.

Your right we do look vulnerable when the opposition run at us and our back 4 have done well most of the season.
Hopefully, once Lucas is back up to speed he will stop that like he was doing before his injury problems. Still feel we are a bit lightweight in midfield (physically I mean) and would love to see a Viera type in there. On Saturday Gerrard was showing signs of being back to his normal standards so maybe he can rekindle that sort of role.
