I'm very relieved too (though perhaps he hasn't the same appeal with me!). I wrote on here a couple of nights ago that he'd become too committed to Bruce, and when Short lost his patience, he might boot the pair of them out. I hoped not, but my thinking was Ellis isn't going to stick with losers no matter what and if he needs to see Niall go, he would.

Whether this is the first step towards the door for Niall, I don't know. (I suspect he and Ellis disagreed on a little something in May and later events haven't suggested that Niall was right). But I hope not. What the big man has done here should never be forgotten.
