I really did think Brucie lost it completely in the last 30 mins yesterday with his changes. Our main threat all afternoon looked to be from Brady at left wing back putting across onto N'doye's head. So what does he do when he brings Jelavic on? Switches N'doye to left wing ( at least I think that was where he was supposed to be playing - he certainly wasn't getting into the box with Jelavic) , and Brady to left back. At one point when we needed a goal, N'doye wandered back to take the ball off the back four. It was completely undisciplined, and Bruce didn't do anything to bawl him out and tell him to get into the oppositions penalty area. I actually felt we were getting on top with 3-5-2, and when he switched it, players looked completely lost.
Actually when we switched to 4-4-2, Burnley couldn't get the ball at all. It was only when they then made their first sub, they managed to get ahold of it again.
Whatever the best formation N'Doye is out of position played wide left. It was like playing with ten men and SB has done this far too often. Throwing "goal scorers" on when we are chasing a game doesn't work in the premier league. We'd have been better with a back three and Brady/Elmo pushed up. Anyway he is the manager and he's taking us down
Now, it has to be said, N'Doye was absolutely excellent on the left wing against Chelsea. What didn't make sense was why N'Doye was moved to the wing when tiny Aluko, who is more of a winger, was left up front for the big N'Doye to launch crosses to.
According to Bruce, N'Doye has previously played on the left wing at international level. Using that logic, he should have also moved Meyler to right back.
