In all the excitement this week I forgot to congratulate Alfie on a smashing game last Sunday. With a display of high energy he harried and tackled as he broke up play. I thought it was a big step forward for the lad.
It can't be easy settling at a new Club, in a new country and I hope this settles him down so that we can hope for great things from him for the future. I feel we will need another lung bursting session from him tomorrow.

Itll be tough for him tomorrow against Fellaini. It's nice to finally have a big physical presence in midfield for a change. We've been bullied in midfield in previous seasons by the likes of Stoke and WBA.

    I agree.

He is slowly finding his feet and it is good to finally have a presence in midfield

The other big lad turned in a good shift as well. Stick him on Fellaini and man mark him out his usual game.

I've been saying all season that the reason Johnson and Sess havent been effective this season is because of how poor our centre midfield was and how deep they play, NDayie has changed that and he makes some great runs forward. He made Johnsons goal possible on Sunday if you watch it again. his bombing run took the man away who would have stopped Johnson. All good teams have 4 or 5 players bombing forward on attacks and Pdc has said this is what he's wanting to see

    NDiaye? Johnson? Graham? Rose? Cuellar?

All huge influential players in the derby on Sunday. Had he been fit, Fletcher too would have been pivotal.

Maybe Martin O'Neill will get some credit for his buys after all.

I concede that all was not what it should have been under Martin but PDC has been left a far better team of players than Mon was asked to pick up the pieces from imo. PDC has undoubtedly squeezed something extra out of them though. That's quite evident.

Hopefully he can build on that this summer in the EPL and create a much better environment for up to prosper.

Agree entirely - for me Ses took his two defenders out towards the right wing and Alfie's run meant that the cover in the middle had to track him which created the space for Johnson to pick his spot. That run of Alfie's would never have happened under MON because he would not have been that far advanced to start with IMO.
