I wonder how long it will take MON to smell the coffee?

Young player, just moved over from another league and your already on his back, good support.

He needs time to settle in, doesn't have to keep starting though, needs time to adjust.

Think this is harsh like he carried us today at times and it's hard to play next to dross like Larsson and Vaughan.

He definitely needs to sharpen his passing and shooting but at least he is making runs and getting in goalscoring positions. We will see the best of Alfie when Cattermole is back.

****ing pathetic this, the lads played 4 times and looked decent twice.

Some of our fans don't deserve a ****ing decent side.

I suppose we will see in good time if he is good enough but at this point in time, we are still in a relegation battle and if its going to take time for this kid to learn how to play in the premier league then I suggest we bring him from the bench in games we are winning....

I don't think he was too bad today personally, he held his shape and area, covered good distance, although I'll admit his passing was poor and he should have scored.

We have far worse players, and it serves no positive purpose to be slating the lad this early.

I suggested that MON ought to smell some coffee and wean him on slowly, from the bench. I personally don't think he is good enough and I don't see the point in pretending to myself that he is good enough. We shall see, as ever.

He did some really good things today. Again at least he gets forward and has a bit of a go, I would rather this than he went for a sideways pass all the time. I think in time he will be a very very good player for us.

Vaughan has done his usual, has 1 great game then cannot repeat it. Larsson needs to play wide. Hopefully Catts will be back soon as I think NDiaye and Catts in the middle will be a decent partnership.

He had a decent game today along with Sess (when he came in from wide), a lot of responsibility on him because of the signings up the road.

Some people on here need to concentrate on Sunderland and forget about Newcastle

After a settling in period and with Catts back N'diaye must be better than Vaughan & Seb who are squad players at the best.

Perhaps I like to share my views. If you don't like it, put me on ignore, simples. If I don't think a player is ready for first team action I will speak up and say so, unlike those that prefer to pretend everything is rosy and ok, in the hope that a player might eventually become good enough.

We are in a relegation battle, if you hadn't noticed.

The lad is very raw and lacks composure at times. On the other hand he is a unit and does the ugly side of the game well. I think he will be warming the bench when catts returns mind and i think this may do him the world of good. Give him 20-30 mins most weeks and work on his passing in training cos there is no doubting the lads engine, desire or commitment. He will be a very good player I have no doubt but needs to learn to be a bit calmer on the ball and not just thrash at it when clean through.

In all honesty he was dreadful today.

What's strange is that the reason he was dreadful is that his ball winning/positioning/runs were so good. Had they been worse he wouldn't have fluffed it so many times. Given time to settle he'll do well.

No one sees our present status as rosy, it is just that some of us are more constructive in our observations and conclusions than to malign a new player.

No he wasn't, his composure was awful but he does what none of our midfield have done all season, get up and support Fletcher.

On his three games to date he looks like one for the future, if he did not have to carry Vaughan and Larsson the last couple of games he might be able to do his job better, hurry back Cattermole to play alongside Alfie.

It's one thing being constructive and another where you remain quiet in the hope that everything will be ok in the middle of a relegaiton battle. He needs to start from the bench and play 20-30 mins as the previous poster suggested. He's not ready for the premier league.

I hope we survive. I hope to see the back of Vaughan, Larrson and Bramble in the Summer. I hope to replace them with better players who can perform week in and week out. I hope not to lose games in places like Reading next season. I know it is a lot to hope for but today was a bad bad day.
