Gas to build a world class car park at UWE ! Going to charge a pound to park all proceeds going to the world class stadium build. It is expected that revenue from this venture will generate £150 in its first year. A source from the club has said they hope to start work on the next phase, santas grotto by year three.
It should remembered that it was not Sainsbury's who scuppered the new ground deal but local Councillors who made the site impossible for use as a Supermarket. This is another example of the problems with building significant public facilities in residential areas. They are now where we were a few years ago ie considering plan B.. Meanwhile all the team can do is deliver on the pitch and with 6 consecutive wins they are doing that. So whether you hate or love the gas we have both been let down by the Council whether it be directly or indirectly.
I think our development is fine and the "gasheads" are going in the right direction, so what's the big beef ?
Red Hub started a thread taking the piss out of the Rovers and a carpark. I am just pointing out that their problems like ours originated from the local Council. If they have a carpark well that's more than we have. There is no big beef jus commenting . If indeed the norm is to "**** the gas" then why start threads about them. I am merely pointing out that there are delivering on the pitch . No more no less
Of dear what a sad world when otherwise well adjusted grown up men get so animated about other grown men kicking a ball about. I was merely pointing the Council (bless them) are a common denominator in all the controversy about our respective stadia. In the Rovers case Sainsbury's weren't allowed to stock up their shop overnight so they reasonably said sorry don't want a shop here then. Whereas with our stadium they took absolutely no notice of public parking concerns and we all know the Arena story. If commenting on a relevant perspective without getting dragged into tribal obscenities is not possible because of the attitudes of the few well it will be a sad day for forums.
