Perhaps Malky is hoping he'll get an injury or something? Maybe there's a foreign scout there who Malky's going to try and hoodwink - it wouldn't surprise me if he's convinced Gareth Bale to wear Naylor's shirt for the game so he'll be snapped up?

They are the only reasons I can think of that he's being put into match day squads.

Malky will give everyone what he considers a fair run due to his " we start from here" policy.
At the end of these pre-seasons he will make his decisions based on what he has seen and not what he's heard.
By that time I expect naylor would have seen his days numbered and counted down.

23 players are being given chances not just Naylor.

Wait for the west ham game before worrying.

There is no point playing him tonight unless he is to play against West Ham. I thought Taylor was recruited to play full back yet again he hasn't been chosen to play there. Clearly the manager sees something in Naylor that we have all missed. Perhaps somebody should tell him that Naylor cannot defend.

Perhaps he's working on the "give him enough rope and he'll hang himself" theory?

    We live in hope.

I came on to say just the same thing. That’s every game now isn’t it?

It is a worry after last season’s performances but if he is doing enough to earn a place then fair play but that is a big IF!!!!!!!!!!
