Today was the last game of the season and there were a few shocks for me! Tranmere and Eastleigh both miss out on the play offs. Dover and Braintree make the play offs. All 4 promoted sides from Conference South/North have survived in the National League. Halifax, who missed out on the play offs last season, are relegated. Things that was bound to happen and that did happen... FGR and Grimsby made the play offs. Kidderminster are relegated. The play offs are: Dover V FGR Grimsby V Braintree Looks like FGR V Grimsby in the final. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/national-league/table
I certainly wouldn't rule out Braintree beating Grimsby. They are the form team, and to be honest, Grimsby are hardly pulling up any trees at the moment.
Just another point - I'm pleased for Boreham Wood to stay up. It would have been a shame for Jamie Lucas to have been part of a relegation campaign.
I'm so glad we got out of the league after one season it seems like Grimsby, Wrexham and Lincoln have been in it for donkeys years I still think three teams should be promoted to league 2
I wouldn't mind FGR going up to be honest. They've been streets ahead of the other sides in the playoffs for most of the season and they've worked hard to get there.
If we stay down, then I would prefer FGR just due to there being less travelling for the team and fans
I bet the Tranmere fans were pretty stunned by the way this season turned out. They'll have to cope with a big drop in funding next season. And it looks tougher and tougher to get out of that league. Torquay did well to pull themselves back from the brink and it was good to see Blissett chipping in with quite a few important goals. GJ certainly did a great job at Cheltenham, because he brought in something like seventeen new players. They're the first team to come straight back as champions for donkeys years.
