I thought I'd have a little fun competition for the jumps season ahead. Nominate the horse that you fancy for each of the following races for the upcoming National Hunt season, with the best ante-post price currently available, according to the list of bookmakers on http://www.oddschecker.com

Points will be awarded to a £1 mythical stake on each horse.

    Races:
King George VI Chase - Kempton, December
    Champion Hurdle - Cheltenham, March
    Arkle Chase - Cheltenham, March
Queen Mother Champion Chase - Cheltenham, March
RSA Chase - Cheltenham - March
    Ryanair Chase - Cheltenham, March
    World Hurdle - Cheltenham, March
    Gold Cup - Cheltenham, March
    Grand National - Aintree, April

Closing date will be up to and including Charlie Hall Chase day at Wetherby so you have 2 weeks to come up with your selections. Once you've made your selections, they cannot be altered (in keeping with those of us who've experienced the perils of ante-post punting! ;)). Good luck!

BTW I was just looking at Ante Post prices and the treble of Hurricane Fly - Quevega - Big Bucks. If you think how dominant each of these 3 horses are in their respective fields you would have to say they really should only need to turn up fit to win. Well at Sporting Bet you can get a shade above 15/1 for the treble. I must say I'm very tempted to have a dabble at that.

I'll add mine a bit later Chance .... but - I may be missing the point slightly, not for the first time - shouldn't entries be stating the ante-post price alongside their selections or are you doing that yourself, in the background so to speak?

Hi Reebok. I'll look up the ante-post prices for the current entries and post them later this evening but I certainly don't mind if entrants state the ante-post price alongside their selections.

Just for clarity, betting exchange prices won't be accepted. Neither will prices be accepted from 32Red.

CG sorry I forgot to put prices with my selections, have added them now. On the Ryanair chase, Little Josh is currently only listed with Befair so I have put their 43 in - hope this is oK.

Cheers OddDog. No probs with putting in the Betfair price for Little Josh if the ordinary bookies don't have a price for it. <ok>

    <ok>

I must revisit some of his films one day - some real gems in there (most of them in fact). I'm Alright Jack with Terry-Thomas: "I know you from the army. You're an absolute shower" and one of my all time favourites, Two Way Stretch with Lionel Jeffries as the strict Warden "Sauerkraut" - "I'll see you lot Monday morning down the quarry ................. SIX O'CLOCK" <laugh><laugh><laugh>
