Did any of the Welsh players in 'Team GB' open their mouths at all during the anthem?

Missed it. What anthem was played? Was it God save the queen? Was it Land of hope and glory?

To be fair I'm English, I have pride and respect for the military but I won't sing the national anthem, got nowt to do with them. It's the well oiled PR machine that I hate.

I ****ing hate the Queen and her clan. **** them all.

I'd sing Jerusalem or Pomp and Circumstance (Land of hope and glory) at the top of my voice but I won't wish for God to save the Queen.

Jerusalem is an effing wierd song. I dont understand the whole moving jerusalem to england malarky.

Give Abide to thee my country any day. Love a bit of Holst.

Or the russian national anthem, that one is an absolute cracker.

Blake was a deeply religious/mystical/spiritual bloke. He's basically saying England is our holy land and we should worship it.

Aye, the Russian national anthem, according to my missus. Is good because it's a little bit of old russia that's survived when the rest hasn't.

Whoa there bill - not sure if you're joking as that was a bit out of the blue but for your info I'm in the air force and have served away. And I wasn't debating how good the anthem was but the fact that none of the welsh lads even attempted to sing, even though they're representing GB.

Problem with the National Anthem is.

    1: Its outdated

2: We only know the Chorus and 1st verse (not many will know all of it).

3: The Welsh and Scots dont sing it at the start of sporting events, only the English/NI do

4: If I was a Scot i wouldnt sing it either with whats in the last verse.

5:If you are not religious, or a royalist, why should you have to sing it, bloody hypocritical if you did if you ask me.
