Well my hands are still sore from applauding his goal . He use to be a running machine , got to add shooting machine to his resume . He's had a couple of left foot shots that had some zing to it of late also . EL SALUTE !! to the " Little big man "
The thing with Wingers is, that they can get into a rut, of just crossing into the box, and over time they forget how to score, and what it feels like, to hit the back of the net, obviously Rodgers has had Dyer rekindle his shooting ability, and I'm sure that Dyer, has now got that wonderful feeling back, that you get when you score, long may it continue for him, one of the best players to ever put on a Swansea shirt, so proud for the lad!.................... please log in to view this image
A lot of us said last season that if he added better service and some goals to his game he'd be the complete player. The goals have come and it's obvious Rodgers has got him working on that and it's great to see. His crosses need some work, but fair play he's getting there. My only concern is keeping him after this season. Someone at the gym mentioned today that if he makes a 'big' move his salary would probably triple.
Only relaised last night after watching Match of the Day that Capello was in the ground. Nathan Dyer a definite England call up for the Euros everyone agree? (Myabe Graham might sneek in as well).
As well as our players are good for us, we are also good for them, with our style of football. Some of our players will hopefully realise that if the 'big-boys' come calling!!
Was thinking the same thing, CQ. Not sure about Graham, as well as he's done for us. Needs to prove himself for a season or two at this level before he gets a sniff I reckon. Capello may well look at him then.
If you guys (some of you did) had watched Dyer at shooting practice a couple of seasons ago, you'd understand how much he has improved in this aspect of his play. To be honest it's almost unbelievable. When I first saw him in training I was astounded. How on earth, I asked myself, can any professional footballer be quite so bad at one of the basics of the game? Yes, he was that bad, so bad I felt like running onto the pitch to hit one myself to prove how poor he was. Cornell was in goal and Curt and a couple of others were rolling the ball in for the players to take a shot. Sometimes the ball was rolled in a straight line for them to run onto; other times the ball would be rolled to the player at different angles and, of course, they took dead ball shots. Whichever way it was done, Dyer was...... dire!! He seemed unable to put his laces straight through the ball; every shot was a scuffed hook that saw the ball bobble and bounce before it reached the keeper with absolutely no hint of power - all with his stronger right foot, never the left. By contrast, the likes of Dobbie and Rangel were hitting crisp, powerful and accurate shots almost without effort. I don't say this with criticism. It's just great to see how he has come on. He's now actually hitting some pretty decent shots with his left foot as well as his right which is great for us. Danny is getting goals through the middle; Sincs has dropped off but always offers a goal threat from the left and it's wonderful to see that Dyer is now nailing us a few as well. So, from me, it's a well done, Nathan!! Keep 'em coming.
Didn't you post this on the old 606 Ivor? Seem to remember you mentioning this before. His shooting has been steadily improving, definitely. Now he needs to work on crossing and he'll be the complete player.
I feel the same way about Sinclair these days as I felt about Gower over the past few seasons , I don't care if he scores . Sinclair is really starting to be a complete team player & doing all the things he wasn't doing before , when he was scoring a few . I like this Sinclair better , him & Dyer are opening acres of space on the inside
Sinclair was fine yesterday, his final ball is all too frustrating at times still, but some of his mazey bursts through the middle are scintillating. Just wish he could make one or two of them count, either with a finish, give & go, or a defence splitting through ball. Appreciating, it's a fine line when attacking at such pace.....
Just heard ray parlour on talk sport saying that Nathan should be picked for the English team before Walcott. Can't disagree with that. The amount of plaudits we've received today form all over the world has been outstanding. Also arsenal fans being very gracious in defeat. Though, they'd be foolish not to. We mullered them in all departments.
Listening too Loughor!! We've been praised all day on talksport by all the presenters, guests, pundits etc. Durham's singing our praises now, they've got a poll going on whether it should be Walcott or Nath...
Yeah im listening too Not sure if you heard John Salako earlier though,he fancies Theo over Nathan ! coming from a former Jack as well...tut tut
at this moment then i think theo has the nod but dyer if he keeps playing the way he is will move ahead of theo in the pecking order.......there is not much between them ...
