I love booking tickets for distant gigs, always have .... loads of anticipation to go with the actual event. 2018 has been a great year for music ... highlights were LP, Lissie and Eivor, all excellent for different reasons. Love to see Tom Waits next year, hardly ever tours but you can dream can't you.
Does booking for Andrea Boccelli next October in Leeds count, fourth time for me and the better half as that lad can hold a note.
I'm in no doubt if he turned up at our front door our lass would have my suitcase packed pronto and wave me goodbye without a tear in her eye. I know my place.
Some of his stuff is hard to listen to but it's worth it to uncover the absolute gems. He's unique and that's rare. He's eccentric but he doesn't try to be.
Great summing up' there is a documentary about him covering a few concerts, each one different, all memorable.
There's nothing worse than someone trying to be 'zany' and eccentric ... Tom Waits is both but he doesn't realise.
