I think most Gooners would see that as a satisfactory option - Cesc didn't really look like he wanted to play for us last season, whilst he is still our best player, if he doesn't want to be here then we should cash in now. Narsi staying is great news though, I think Wenger should play him in CM and bring in another winger. Along with a CB and possibly another couple of signings, I think we should be in good shape for next season. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...-likely-to-go-to-Barcelona-article746395.html
Nasri should definitely NOT be one of the players to leave - it would be shake up alright, but to our detriment.
If Cesc does leave I want us to sign a player who is proven quality, not to promote Wilshire and wait for him to be as good as Fab. Having said that though Barca are trying to cut costs and I doubt they have the funds to buy him.
The trouble with Cesc now is that he's already got one foot out of the door. If Barca don't come up with an acceptable offer, I think we could have a disgruntled player on our hands which is not good for team morale.
Fab doesn't seem like the payer to sulk but you could be right. However to sell him for 30 million (only 6 mill more than Milner for gods sake!) would be pretty disappointing.
I agree, he's not a sulker. But he's clearly been distracted, he almost became a Barca player last season and didn't seem to have his heart in it for Arsenal. I still think if Wenger brings in two or three top players, both he and Narsi will be committed for Arsenal.
Hopefully if Cesc goes we will change our style of play. The formation we play now was largely to get the best out of our best player, Fabregas, and we will not be able to replace him with the quality neccessary to make the system work. TBH I wouldn't care too much if Samir went as well. He is not a winger, and imo not good enough to play Cescs role or in the middle if we change our system.
Why? Since Cesc has become the focal point of the team we have failed. Nasri has had half a season where he looked top class. If both leave Wenger may bring in the players needed to turn us back from nearly men to winners.
Depends if you mean like for like replacements, or players that will improve the team. We won't get a like for like replacement for Cesc, so no point trying. But i think it would be wrong to try. We should get proper wingers and a combatitive midfielder to compliment the rest of the players at the club. If Cesc goes then we would need to change the style of the team.
And Nasri would not be hard to replace, to be fair. He is hardly a massively influential player on the squad, bar a few months this season. Doubt it would be that hard to replace him, Hazard is heavily linked.
If Nasri and Fabregas leave I think it would send out the wrong message to the rest of our team, and I think they would both be BADLY missed. Do we really want another season of bringing in players to try and replace ones that have left? What with all the time it takes for them to settle - I really think we would struggle to seamlessly replace these two players. We should be doing all we can to convince them that Arsenal is where they should be playing - and for me that means adding two or three key players in CB, DM and CF to improve our existing squad and allowing our best players like RVP, Cesc and Nasri to flourish, rather than end up frustrated because a small but crucial part of the squad is missing.
Cazorla would be a great buy if Villareal would sell, he is better than Nasri in my opinion. i need to see more of mata though.
Yeah, Cazorla is great. Mata is very, very similar to Silva, probably not as good, but he has to potential to be. He's got great passing ability and can play in almost any attacking position. Check this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE_bdgAeWHg
I love that video! Nice to see Cesc comforting Albiol at the end Anyway from the relatively little I have seen Mata is a slightly poorer version of Silva and I think we may want someone better. However I am sure he could be good for us.
