A proposal I thought I'd put to the board regarding the upcoming poll: Assuming the poll is worded fairly and along the lines of "Do you want the team to be called Hull City or Hull Tigers from next season?" then I propose two sticky threads for the voting period - one for anti-name change arguments and one for pro-name change arguments. The idea would be that both of them feature no petty squabbles; people would be invited to post their arguments in a single concise opening post and arguments against them would also be welcomed. Additional arguments could be edited into the OP for clarity and simplicity and I'd also propose that myself and the others mods keep them free of any superfluous posts such as daft taunts. Finally I'd propose that it's limited only to the name change, so no Allam is a ****/CTWD are ****s. It'd basically be a campaign process to explain to undecided users which way to vote, but through facts and logical argument only. If it happens I'd encourage everyone to read both threads before making their decision. Another format could be a single sticky with the first two posts acting as the 'master' ones. So one anti and one pro. What do we think?
Just one thread with an opening post highlighting the pros and cons of each side would be better, and kept clean of degenerating in to the usual ****e.
I like it but who would write that opening post? Would Happy Tiger be Happy about someone like me writing it? This is why I'm thinking two separate threads would be better.
Happy Tiger doesn't care one way or the other. I'd not be allowed to post in, or challenge anything said in the CTWD thread. I'd not change anyone's mind in the other thread where we all know abuse would be ignored, so, I'd just ignore them both ta very much. Fill your boots and keep on pushing the CTWD agenda as you wish. Not sure why you think anymore threads on this subject are needed tbh seeing as it's been done to death already, unless you're just trying to carry on with the divide the fans thing you seem really keen on. Personally I'll just hope the FA Council see sense, and if they don't, that it doesn't cost us the Allam Family as owners. Not really much else to say on the matter from my perspective. You guys have fun though!
You mean you'll ignore the opportunity to present your reasons for convincing people to vote for the name change, and instead focusing on nonsense like this post with random accusations and distractions from the facts, despite my attempts to focus solely on the poll. You're desperate to keep 'our best ever owners' and they've said they're going if we vote no. You seem to believe they aren't compulsive liars so surely you should be desperate to make your case and convince your 'silent majority' to vote yes? It couldn't just be that you still haven't thought of a single reason to support it could it?
I think everyone on here would know the pros and cons and which way they are voting by now. There's more threads about the name change than fans against it.
It's not really about adding anything new. The idea is just to put everything in one place to make it absolutely clear so that if anyone is undecided they can read both and make their decision. If there are any pros to the name change then I definitely don't know about them yet so it'd be worth someone posting them on the thread. Unless there's any objections to it I'll go ahead and set this up once the poll is announced, providing the wording is fair.
If the name changes: Pro: Mr. Allam stays FA Cup final tickets will be readily available. Future of the club is secure. Con: Mr. Allam stays We become a laughing stock Our name sounds silly Foam hands will be all the rage If it doesn't change Pro: Mr. Allam leaves We keep our name We gain respect in the footballing community We don't become a laughing stock We can laugh at Cardiff again Con: Mr. Allam leaves Future of the club will be very uncertain.
There may not be , that's why I said 'there's more threads about the name change than fans against it'
F uck you too . I put the name on (tongue in cheek) when Allams decided to change it , not that i have to explain to cnuts like you.
