Title says it all - except what we're gonna do about it if it continues.

Was a time when only one or two got into calling posters names just because they don't agree with certain points made. Today it seems to becoming epidemic, so much so that my resolve to intervene by deleting provocative posts evaporated at the realisation that it'd take me all night to get through some of the bollox commentary these past coupla three hours.

Okay, so it's the red mist coming through on the back of a huge disappointment for us all, but ffs we're typing, not talking off the top of our tiny minds. Take time to think about the consequences of what you've written before pressing send. If you can't (or won't) self-moderate in this way, you leave us no choice but to take the necessary actions.

As for the 'face to face' threat made earlier, that's entirely unacceptable, not to mention juvenile, in anyone's book. I'll let it go this time but that's a permanent ban if it happens again.

I dunno mate. There are one or two on here who just have to make everything a personal attack!! Gets very tiresome!

Handbags are one thing, personal threats another. Brix is right. Cool it before pressing the send button and you get a constructive dialogue that others will want to read

On a personal level you're probably right rrrrs but in recent weeks I've been criticised for letting such things go for too long. Posters on here expect us to intervene to keep things reasonably moderate.

Self-moderation is the ONLY answer mate if you want to keep us mods off your case.

I think the 'personal threat' was aimed at me and i didn't take it personally or seriously, heat of the moment stuff after a really shocking defeat.

With respect, doesn't matter how you took it rrrrs. Creates a bad precedent. Whether it's so in this case or not, this board isn't going to become a drop box for 'meets'.

And also you would have to wait until mid October? <doh>

However i will also agree with Brix on this, people need to chill or at least go to the game before you comment.

For me, it's not threats that are the problem. I think we all know that most are just "heat of the moment things" or someone just being a silly big bollox keyboard warrior.
No....what I'm getting heartily sick of is the way some people just have to make a personal attack on certain contributors, linking it to old threads and arguments. Very, very irksome!!!!

Theres no place for keyboard warriors and threats from behind a screen. It just makes us look pathetic.

Agree with Brix, just for the record. Make a tea / coffee before you hit send.

It's digital and it's healthy to have a cross section and give it out but be prepared to take it IMO

I never seen or read these but you are 100% correct to take action like this Brix it's a football match for crying out load and just maybe a blessing in disguise to help manage all our expectations.

Good job Brix you have my backing :)

I'm may be partly responsible for sharing my opinion in the heat of a **** day (6hr drive and a 0-5 defeat) but I did politely request we keep to the spirit of the forum, bad idea.

Brix I have to say I wouldn't want your job at the moment, credit to you for your contribution.

This was a great forum for discussing football but I can not get my head around grown men calling each other childish names it lowers the tone for all of us. I don't want everyone to agree with me but please to those 'name callers' who I can't reason with - structure your argument or shut up, your acting like bullies. Ever wondered why we have so many lurkers?

    Solidarity Brix.

Just to say I have no axe to grind with any of you - including matey who just swapped a couple of PMs with me. You're all reasonable guys who love their football and our club. Understand that friggin' roller-coaster of ours is still giving us a rough ride but let's just all agree to calm it Ahmet.

The fact we all see one game but from different angles should make for interesting discussion. Let's enjoy selling our own points of view to others who are almost bound to have a different opinion.

As Bush says, that's what a forum is all about - or should be.

The truth is though, the silent majority thought your letting things flow was the way to go. Its always the same cry-babies who call for barring orders when someone disagrees with them. (To be fair to COL he's not one of those. He fights his corner and takes it on the chin.)

Totally agree. Actually, I'm quite certain the vast majority of members are of that opinion. Why should the same little pip-squeaks get to dictate how the Board is Moderated when most of us just want a free and open forum?

I'd love it if a poll was done because the squealers would be put right back in their box.
