The Lions secured their passage with a 2-0 victory at non-league Boreham Wood last weekend. Rowett said: “I read an article where Nakhi Wells made comments that he was really disappointed they didn’t get a big club. Some of our fans might not care for that or disagree with it. “I understand if you are a Championship club like Millwall or Bristol City then realistically you want either a top-four club for the excitement that goes with that or one of the lower-seeded teams in the competition. What you generally don’t want is to play against a club that is in your league week in and week out. “The game comes at the end of a hellish fixture list and both clubs might use it to give some players game time. That’s the hard bit because the FA Cup is normally a massive, massive priority in anyone’s season – certainly at Millwall. “But there are so many games and so many different scenarios that it is hard to see it as the number one priority. But we’ll try and maintain of the cup and still try and win the game.” City striker Wells said: “Disappointed that we haven’t got a big club, but it’s another team that we know we are capable of beating to progress to the next round. So we just have to get through our fixtures and approach that fixture with supreme confidence and belief that we can beat them.” https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/mill...de-by-bristol-city-striker-after-fa-cup-draw/
I like Gary Rowett, he talks a lot of sense. I think he would be good for us if the opportunity ever arose..... I'm sure many on here would disagree with me on his suitability for us, as he hasn't achieved or won anything as a manager.
I never regarded Millwall as a big club,no bigger than us, always thought of them as a tough club to beat, no doubt they are not regarded as a large London club, middle tier, Nahki Wells is correct when he said he was disappointed, he wanted an Arsenal, Tottenhan or even West Ham for a large London club or a Liverpool, Man Utd, these are big clubs. If Millwall beat us, which is likely, Wells will be eating his own words but he might score a hat trick, pigs might fly.
Yeah, but he didn't play for us under his dad, so that makes him a fine contender and his surname isn't Johnson. This means that the fact he's won nothing is irrelevant - it only applies to LJ....... Sorry - the thread title does say 'get a bite' - lets see what happens........

In all seriousness it’ll probably work - Millwall fans don’t need much provocation to get them fired up. Shame for them they’re not allowed in the stadium.....
Just trying to be a bit lighthearted with all of the doom and gloom that is eroding our lives at the moment, even some of our threads make dreary reading, there is absolutely minimal info percolating out of our club as usual, I'm finding it hard to list anything.
I have strived to keep away from the LJ debate for a good while now but you never know, I did hear that he is a big advocate of the covid 19 vaccine programme but I'd better keep quiet about that because I agree with him.
