This is a shame but I think we all knew that something was on the cards. I just hope we get some suitors at the right price because this needs to be dealt with before the transfer window closes otherwise it could be a turbulent ride for the rest of the season.

A shame but it is obvious that he had never settled in the UK/Bristol and his performances were patchy at best.

My understanding was that although the excuse of a family funeral was used to explain him being missing at the end of last season was true, the funeral was in fact 10 days after him being sent home, Pearson knew when he was allowed home he wanted to leave and basically told him to earn his move by performances in the Euro's. Pearson's leaking of the private conversation will hopefully speed up the process of him leaving, but don't expect a huge fee.

We need a striker far more than an unhappy midfielder.

No, what it means is a player has asked to leave, his agent has obviously not found him a suitable move, Pearson is the manager of BCFC and needs a striker and the window closing is looming large and he doesn't want to keep a player who doesn't want to be there and presumably Nagy does not want to spend a whole season sat on his arse, so Pearson is making other clubs in the football world publicly aware of the fact that Nagy is available.

I don't see how Pearson has undermined him, he is merely trying to facilitate a move that satisfies an unhappy player and goes some way to funding a new striker, trying to do the best for the player and more importantly the club.

If anything Pearson is being overly helpful to a unhappy player.

He may have had to do 10 days prior the funeral due to isolation rules.

That of course might be true, but it doesn't detract from the fact that Nagy wants to leave. He fell out with the club very early on over an injury picked up whilst on international duty and it has been obvious and well documented that he hasn't settled in the UK/Bristol and needs to move for the good of all concerned. He has been at best inconsistent.

If we can get in the region of £3-4 million for him then great, as that might get us the striker we need. The risk is, if King, James or Williams get injured, we are a bit thin in the middle of the park again

Those are the perils of the cost cutting needed to overcome the pandemic loss of income and your comments are very close to the mark in all aspects. Do you have any good ideas as to who we might sign or are the possibilities limited by our current budget. I thought at one time we were linked to Yates of Blackpool and did I hear mention of a pay as you play possibility with Andy Carroll, or was that a wind-up?

And that would be a good fee in the current climate.

Unless of course you have a Jack Grealish, a Harry Kane or a half decent Brighton defender who might go far!!

There’s still money in the PL as their income is mainly TV money which is still there , proportionately they don’t lose much by not having fans at games.

Proven by the fact that Man City can pay £100m for Grealish and it seems are willing to pay about £120m for Kane if Spurs will agree that price. Not bad when you can spend close to a quarter of a billion pounds on 2 players with next to no fan income for the last 16 months...

Shame but he had a decent Euro's, will definitely have driven his value up and we might be able raise some funds to get someone else in.

Yeah, but there are a load of half-decent midfielders available on a free - I read that Barcelona has just released one.............it's just a case of picking them up when we need to strengthen..:emoticon-0136-giggl

That's premier league protectionism for you. Their Euro league was stopped so now they will make sure most money remains in the prem or with their Euro mates.

IMO our best opportunity for selling to a PL side will be Scott, we need to make sure we sell him at PL rates.
