As we all know, the start of the new season is only a month away (2 if you don't have sky ) so i thought i would skip this season, and get cracking on 2013 instead. This promises to be a cracking season, with Fernando Alonso beginning the defence of his 3rd title, being chased by the Mercedes duo of Nico's Hulkenberg and Rosberg. Here are some predictions for this seasons action. 1)Car development will be pretty limited, as teams give the current set of regulations 1 last hurrah, before the sweeping changes being made next season. 2)McLaren may get it right. After a terrible 2012, which saw the entire design team get fired, and the return of Ron Dennis midseason, there is the smell of a new beginning at McLaren. Hamilton and Button have been retained, and the new design team have promised a radical car, one which pushes boundaries. 3)End of Red Bull dominance? After narrowly losing out on the crown last season, due to poor reliability from the RB8, this season's RB9 will attempt to iron out any mechanical niggles. There was no doubting the RB8 was the fastest car last season, but reliability hurt them badly, so no groundbreaking designs are planned. Red Bull need a fully fit Sebastian Vettel this season, after a pre-season injury to his finger, which got jammed in a door by an angry aussie bloke. Young jean-Eric Vergne may have to lead the team whilst Vettel returns to speed. 4)Ferrari making the right moves. After Alonso's triumph with the pig ugly ferrari last year, no real changes have been made. Felipe Massa retains his seat after a decent 2012 season, and hopes to help the team towards victory again. No key personnel changes have been made, but why fix something that isn't broke? 5)Mercedes were 2012's suprise package. Despite not winning any races, consistent podium finishes saw them finish ahead of McLaren in the constructors title, in 3rd place overall. With Michael Schumacher's 2nd retirement now in effect, Nico Hulkenberg drives the 2nd car, alongside fellow german and Nico, Nico Rosberg. 6)After Kimi Raikkonen's not so shocking exit during the middle of last season, Lotus are lucky to have a fully fit Robert Kubica leading the team for 2013. Car-wise though, things aren't so rosy. A restricted budget could see them scrapping with Sauber for 5th place, not really pressuring the big4 teams. There, it's all a load of rubbish for now, but we've got a whole year until 2013, maybe some predictions will be correct? Regardless, it's better than the drivel Benson comes up with.
Mystic Max's useless prediction for 2013: Triple World Champion Sebastian Vettel makes a shock move to join McLaren, all the better to admire his reflection in their shiny silver livery: "Mirror, mirror on my car, Who's the best driver by far?"
HRT sign Sutil. Luiz-Perez Sala is quoted as saying "At only 29, Adrian is one of the finest young drivers out there." He also anticipates his youthful exuberance being a useful contrast to his more experienced new team-mate, Nigel Mansell.
