I started supporting the Swans in 1997 and never thought I would see us in the premiership. The club is going to have a new big support behind it next year which is fantastic for the finances and future of the club. A lot of people will remember standing in terrible away stands all across the country, mansfield away comes to mind and next year we will have the chance to go on amazing trips. My worry is the club are going to sell around 16000 season tickets - how is the priority on away games now going to be measured? Is it going to be like tonight where fans queue all night to get tickets for Liverpool away etc. Please Swansea City put something in place for the people who followed you for years and dont let us down. We must be given a priority over people who have just bought season tickets.
I agree wholeheartidly. priority given to STH who have had ST for at least 3 of the last 5 years should weed out the plastics but also take into account any who have had to take a ST break due to whatever reason (e.g. work)
This debate is just the same as an article further down really just aimed at something slightly different... I said on that article i'm not a STH and explained, but for a new STH surely their thinking will be: "Well i've paid my money just like everybody else"
Here I was going to suggest that we might subsidize a few thousand youngish tickets & & throw a few million at the regular away fans in little perks . I think season tickets being sold ahead of the end of the ongoing season should only be for that League . If a higher division is reached , let core fans that followed the team year in & year out have another chance to buy in first . I guess what I'm saying is if we had not reached the Premier , there wouldn't be a fight over tickets . Big business can come up with instant money for a quick buy but your average Joe , who followed the team no matter the season , might need a bit of time to figure out how to get the money & the tickets are gone .
