....well where to start. we never really got going did we? didnt play as a team, constant poor passes, constant missing of chances, and letting them play the ball around far too easily. I have no idea what Hughes was doing, and to make it even worse, they had been working on that 'game plan' for two weeks! Playing one up front at home to Fulham is awful. Zamora had no chance when trying to close down short goal kicks when he has to mark two CB's. Hughes just seemed to miss this completley until the 40th minute - but then in the second half we let them do it again. SWP - is awful. I have had enough now. He runs down blind alleys, gets pushed off the ball and doesnt seem to be trying. He said he wanted to get into the England squad when he came here! He must be dropped. But I think Hughes wont have the bottle. Add Barton and Kenny to that. On the subject of Kenny - what does he actually do for the team? Every decent shot goes in and he remains rooted to the spot. The goal was simply awful. Fulham played through our midfield and defence far too easily. Play like that again and we could get stuffed by one of the bigger clubs. I have lost faith in this team to stay up now. Something is very very wrong.
Drop Barton and SWP. Play Traore and Derry and keep Hill at CB. We need players who care and want to play for the club!!
IF reports in the media are correct (IF), then all is certainly not well. While nobody can be certain except the players and management, my gut is telling me that our Joey is causing some if not most of this trouble. A captain is supposed to lead by example, on and off the pitch. IMHO, he has done neither. I think MH needs to grow some balls and give him and some bench time. What have we to loose? his contributions on the pitch have been at best, average.
79% pass accuracy according to sky, fulham 81%. Not a bad success rate. Have to say I think Hughes should have substituted Samba after the first booking he was trying too hard to impress. Were back to the old rangers plenty of decent build up play but always want to walk the ball into the net. I think I'm resigned to the fact that we are far from a premier league team. We are massively inconsistent, if we stay up it will be because of other teams form not our own. Hangeland was exceptional for them Saturday nothing got past him, Johnson was a constant thorn in our side and I think I see now why the let Zamora go he looked like bothroyd but uglier on Saturday!! Roll on may in sick of having palpitations.
Down with the Wigan. I tried to ignore the Wolves game as a bizzare set of circumstances when 3 points would have been well and truly in the bag until the sending off. We lose to our relegation rivals at Blackburn and fall apart against Fulham. If the points tally for this season is high 30's or there abouts then we need to win 5 matches. Where the feck are we going to get 5 wins from Everton, Bolton, Liverpool, Sunderland, Arsenal, Man Utd, Swansea, West Brom, Spuds, Chelskum or Man Citeh? At best we can dream of winning two or three but as for the rest I don't see anything going our way. We are at the bottom of the Premiership because that is where we deserve to be. Blame the Goons, Warnock, Fernandes, Sparky, Barton, SWP, Cisse or Jude the Cat - it makes no difference who we point the finger at, simple thing is we are just not good enough. At this rate we are not even going to go down on goal difference on the last game of the season, we are going to be bottom. A month ago I thought there was enough quality in the side and some solid signings to give it a go. We had games against lower level sides that should have been guaranteed wins. Now we have run out of the easier games and something is wrong on a deep level with team morale. It's like there are two teams, Barton vs the rest. Hello Championship and everything that will come with it. Mass exodus of players, management, owners and the stench of failure. Sorry, it's been a bad weekend. Up the R's!!!!
