From my perspective in the Dolman yesterday, I thought we played ok in the first half, Ryan Mcgivern had a reasonable debut and we looked fairly solid at the back. So where did it go wrong? Well, for me Neil Kilkenny really slows the play down, every time he is on the ball we lose any tempo we had going forward, we do need someone to put their foot on the ball but we need to keep the ball moving quicker, this is what JCR was doing and I thought he looked ok. Second half we looked like we ran out of steam, our fitness levels don't appear to be as high as in past seasons and we are very predictable and seem to be trying to get the ball out to Adomah too much (he was blowing out his ass for the last 20!) Maynard was clearly hacked off at having to play up front on his own and didn't look very interested to me. Any confidence the side had you can visibly see draining away as the minutes tick away and quite frankly so is mine.
And you would think that a manager who gets paid alot of money to actually 'manage' the team would see these points, would you not? its ok though because at the end of the day its his job that will be on the line, not ours!! the clocks ticking keefy boy, sort it out or get out.
Been away so missed yesterday. Just listened to Millen's post match review. Effin pathetic. Total loser. Sextone and Millen - The blind leading the blind.
RP good summing up, it was a fairly "equal" game till the goal, had it been us 3 points them 3 pts. a goal was probably to be the deciding factor i made my mind up Friday the likelihood was go defensive, I warned against.....as we would not be able to get 1 back if they scored and unlikely to score being defensive
I made a point of watchingh Kilkenny yesterday - he might slow the game down but this is mainly because he spends a lot of his time looking around trying to find a non existant option. I really don't think you can blame him, the Leeds fans rated him well and he is a decent player. As for the comparison to LJ, never in a million years.... The fact is that the midfield situation, which has been a problem for 3 years now, STILL hasn't been resolved. Threre is STILL no game plan and this despite the fact that we have the England U21 coach working for us, scary... We simply do not play joined up football anymore, its like give the ball to the next bloke and lets see if he can do anything with it. No one knows what anyone else is going to do and we do not have an spells of what could be descirbed as passing and possession. The whole thing has broken down and the players just aimlessly lump the ball in the general direction of anyone who is moving I said to my mate yesterday that it will be tight for an hour but if we ran out of legs we would be in trouble. Alledgedly, JCR came off for a knee injury but it didn't look like it tol me as he looked EXTREMELY pissed off
There is definitely a lack of movement in the side and I think that is a fitness issue, but kilkenny does slow the play down, there were a few times yesterday where he could have moved the ball on in to space on his first touch but farted about and didn't play any sort of ball in the end, especially in the second half. (I didn't compare him to LJ though?) and to be honest most reviews I read from Leeds fans weren't very complimentary either. What do I like about him, He's a winner and he will drive people on, I like that, but I get the feeling he wont have too many friends in the dressing room.
so we have a disruptive element in the dressing room....thats bad.... thats particularly bad if his style of play is interpreted to put a negative slant on the game...will he ever be man of the match?
I watched Millen and Poyet yesterday,Millen spent most of the game stroking his chin with his hands on his hips,Poyet was bolicking, motivating and jumping up and down like you wouldn't believe.... Sorry,Millen is a bleeder not a leader, get him out......
"So we have a disruptive element in the dressing room!" I never said that! Pro footballers are used to large egos around them, it comes with the territory, sometimes you need someone to ruffle a few feathers, the other players understand that, and it wont make them popular but sometimes it has to be.
It's exactly the same as last season, teams come to the gate and can move the ball from defence to our penalty area either in a couple of swift passing movements or with clever football. We however seem to want to crab the ball up the field and even when we do break with pace it gets to just over the halfway line before WE slow it down, usually waiting for someone to run or stroll into space. I keep logging onto the website to see the headline "Millen resigns" or "By mutual agreement" but not yet!!!! when oh when?
