Ok here goes..... Most people will moan it doesnt need a new thread,some complain about my grammar or spelling.... However i feel i must say my piece. A lot of fans moaning at the moment and/or accusing new board of lies etc. where to start... 1:- pochettino leaving........ Yes he left. May or may not of been offered a new contract , we dont/ wont know for sure , we have to believe what were told by the only official comment so far, that he was offered a contract but still chose to leave. Why the surprise? most thought he was off when cortese left so i dont see thats a biggie. Sure plans could of been put in place for a replacement sooner but look at all the upset there was when it was told we had sounded out pochettino before adkins had left? Pochettino may have moved on to tottenham with a clause disallowing him to raid our players? We dont know where we would of finished had Pochettino left when cortese did so IMO im grateful he stayed to finish the season, even if it only meant a few extra million finishing a couple of places higher. 2:- Bids from other teams shouldnt be included in the "transparency" its bad business. Not only for getting the best transfer fees but not fair on the teams placing bids. While i agree it would be nice to know who saints are looking at bringing in to our club, it may also alert other teams to our targets so liverpool pinch them too. I certainly have no issue with Lamberts move and hope he does well . I know most agree with that but its there in black and white as my opinion. That man is a saints legend IMO and many others wether he stayed or left. 3:- ok lallana time...... this got me incensed the most. (ok probably spelt that wrong) So he has been in a constant media spin on hes off hes going hes gone kind of thing since the season ended. That is not his fault...neither is it certain that hes trying to push for a move? None of the people close to him seem to think its true, pretty sure they wouldnt tell us if he was, but why ruin themselves to say hes not if he is. For arguments sake he wants to leave and all the gossip is true.... He is on a long contract and until the value is met he wont be sold... simple as that..... should this phone call thing about lallanas call to the board not being answered be true then maybe that in hindsight is a bit of a moronic thing to do and could of been handled better but why should he be bothered phoning boards about transfers when he should be concentrating on the most important time of his career at a world cup. cant see that being gospel either.. 4:- with luke .... its all media rumours and hearsay at the moment so dont see the fuss of firesale or losing all our best players bla bla... should he (or all the others linked with moves) go then we will surely get more money in than we spent on them so makes business sense. As matt le tissier said players come and go all the time. while i agree the soul of the team and the comradery (spelt wrong, in fact probably should be spelled) is what made the team so good, it doesnt mean it cant be again. Ship out anyone that wants to go and get better/similar players in .... 5:- fonte thing.... sure id be annoyed if i was Jose (unfortunately i'm not need the cash) as looks as tho Osvaldo is on his way back. I'm not sure whats been said as i write this by fonte (or allegedly) but i can see why he'd feel aggrieved. cant moan or go on about this as no idea how this one plays out. 6:- ok last one the new manager..... similar applies to player transfers... the shortlist was never gonna be released to public view so not sure why ralph said it may.. bit of an error there but not unforgivable, hes learning his role as he goes. what has been said is that they are looking for a high calibre replacement so why moan and whinge about it until the new guy is appointed (hopefully Koeman IMO) it will take a bit of time to get the interviews done etc. so will be done asap and released in the right way for any involved. Thats my rant overwith i'm sure if its deemed this will be stickied or something but hey ho if it is it is. Im not panicking (yet) lets just play this thing out (firesale, asset stripping or any other tag you wanna put on this period) and see where it goes. sorry for the rant but feel some fans need to get a grip! I support the shirt WHATEVER / WHOEVER / WHEREVER not whos running it playing for it or trying to ruin it!
Please can we make this the last thread expressing people's individual views? There are plenty of other threads for you to say what you like in. Any others will get merged!
