Might not have been everyone's favourite chairman at the time, but he always did what was best for the club.

I won't hear a bad word about him. Loved the club, did what he could with limited resources, always had the club best interests at heart. I remember when the stones were hitting the Boardroom windows at Roker Park and his wife was telling him she'd had enough!
However,he stuck with it and his legacy will always be the SoL. Without his drive and vision,we wouldn't have had our magnificent stadium....bought and paid for at a fraction....and I do mean fraction....of the potential cost later. We are the envy of the likes of Arsenal,Tottenham, Everton, etc.,who've each spent well over £500m to get something that cost us £20m.....and the opportunity to expand at a lower cost per seat than any of them.....much to the chagrin of our friends up the road.
    Arise Sir Bob....aka...Squeaker....you deserve it.

Enjoyed that video, thanks. Worked on the Beacon Of Light when it was being built. Didn't know you could just go in there without an appointment, haven't been in there since we were painting it, will be interesting to see it all "finished" :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Let's be honest, we all wanted him gone when Drumaville were lurking...and it was probably the best thing he could ever do (selling up). He is an honest, local man with limited resources who couldn't compete with the foreign billionaires that were coming into the game. Just a shame that the Irish financial world fell off a cliff and they sold up to that Texan Turd

He certainly has created a great legacy at the club and the city. He will be remembered long after he’s gone. Looking forward to reading his book.

Tremendous, nearly brought a tear to the eye watching that. I'll get the book now as all £20 goes to the Beacon

Was at the Beacon on Saturday with the grandson and he loved playing football in the small pitches there. Its a credit to Sir Bob and the work they are doing there. The book is a great read and well worth the money

Decent video but the piano music playing loudly throughout is very distracting.
