Yesterday for me was very encouraging, and although WBA probably deserved their 3 points, a draw wouldn't have been an unfair result.

First of all lets examine their goals:
Their first goal was pure class, maybe AJ could have stopped it, but it came pretty quickly towards him, so for me nothing much we could have done to prevent the goal.

Second goal was a moment of madness from Mig, who has been class all season, won't make a mistake like that for the rest of the season IMO, just happens sometimes, was very proud of our fans for applauding him the next time he touched the ball.

Third goal was quite simply a disgrace, Ridgewell is a cheating bastard. There's making the most of contact and then there's cheating, and he is a dirty cheat, I don't blame the ref; I thought it was a pen myself and when someone just plain out cheats it makes it very difficult for referees. Pen was class though

and the fourth came as we pushed forward, 2-3, 2-4, either way it's a loss.

Now what really encouraged me was our attacking, we still lacked the ability to make the right pass, but we had 12 (TWELVE) shots on target. That's 12 (TWELVE) times the amount we had on target vs Villa. So that is one problem that has definitely been addressed. Coming out after HT we could have just let our heads dropped but we went out straight on the front foot and we were very nearly rewarded for it.

Sess was looking very good yesterday and has got 2 goals now, he is starting to play how he was last year.

So in summary, I was, of course disappointed to lose yesterday, however we could have easily drawn or even won the game. WBA have been class this year and it was never going to be an easy game, QPR next will also be difficult, Saggy Chops' first game in charge and all, but we should win against them.

Now I just wanna make a point to all those who want MON out: THINK. If we sacked him who would we bring in? Will the new manager magically improve our attacking fortunes?

MON has never failed at a club where he's been long-term, so I really struggle to understand why some people think we'll be relegated :steam: Also where the hell is your patience?! He's been in for less than a year FFS.

I thought we played pretty well yesterday and were unfortunate not to get something out of the game.
The crowd noise was **** mind, probably not helped with the early kick off.

Sessegnon returning to form is almost enough on it's own to relax me.

Looking forward to midweek, think we will all feel better afterwards.

We were poor until they scored then decided to put some effort in, they then scored again probably lucky does not matter one jot they scored. The ref was poor for both teams but, was positioned good to see the pen was a dive. Performance again was improved however, we have to start games when the whistle blows not when the opposition scores. Tuesday is a must win for me as we are being set adrift and, our home games are not the bankers we think.

At least they had a good go at it, i hope we fling every thing at QPR: stuff the defending, you have to be brave sometimes in life and here is the chance. I would like Kilgallon in for O Shea, put Sess in midfield and Start Connor and Fletcher and maybe Frazer/Saha in place of Colback.

    This on so many levels.
If we are going to get beat lets get beat by a better team.
Not a team we haven't managed to stop playing.

I had a watch of your game on Saturday whilst waiting for the mrs to get ready for going out, I managed to watch the whole game by the way, she's not quick.

Both teams looked fairly decent to me, West Brom were brilliant at moving the ball around and you lot looked comfortable in all departments in the first half. John O'Shea should have been sent off in my opinion, and Ridgewell dived for a pen so all's fair after 90 mins for me.

You appear to have it in for O'Shea - you said the same against Fulham - but Shane Long DIVED - not quite as bad as Ridgewell!!

As for the OP - can't argue with any of it - Thought exactly the same and was about to post exactly the same

Although I was going to add that Danny Rose and Sessegnoin both had very good games. It was much more encouraging a result but I still thought McClean was very poor after he came on - Young Wickham should be given a chance IMO - he's left footed and can play as the left part of an attacking line up!!

Cheers Terry as I thought both teams looked decent - just luck isn't on our side at the moment and is running west broms way

Good post TVI, but as they say 'the truth is in the pudding' yep daft saying..

Now this may sound daft, but i'm a builder, and sometimes we get jobs which entail,

Starting with a not to bad basis, but has fundamental flaws, and then you start chipping away at said flaws, and find that the problems are more extensive than first thought..

It's a time taking and labouring exhaustive period of time, but once you have got to grips with the problems, they can then be solved, piece by piece.

Once it starts to take place the rest is mostly easy, it's only the expensive extra's that make it a bit special, that can hinder the progress to a thing of beauty..

If you catch my drift (also another daft saying).
