We were unlucky, there's no two ways about it. We controlled the game for near enough 88 mins and had a lapse for less than 2 minutes. If we can play like that week in/week out we'll be comfortably safe by april. -cesar looks like the real deal. Through two games, he has yet to put a foot wrong and looks like he could be one of the top 5 keepers in the prem by the end of the season -Kieron dyer not only played for practically a full game but he also looked competent at the position. The fact he made it longer than 6 minutes was surprising enough -hill looked like the hill of last season. Motm for me today. Didn't put a foot wrong and prevented at least 2 goals with solid defending -in faurlin and granero we could have one of the best centre mid pairings in the prem. they already look to have a great understanding and the passing game was absolutely incredible today. -swp had a reasonable game but for me was probably our worst player and shouldn't be starting -hoilett has been underwhelming so far but has shown increased flashes each week of his form from last season -bobby Zamora looks like a different man. He looks composed, clinical and also won multiple balls in the air. Long may it continue. -Hughes got his subs wrong for me today. Zamora was having a cracking game upfront and shouldn't have been taken off. Gallas and caulker seemed to breathe a sigh of relief when he went off. Cisse was also poor, like he has been for most of this season. He needs a goal, but his head seems to have dropped at the moment and he didn't seem to have any chemistry with the team. For me swp for mackie should have been the original sub followed by diakite for park to change us into a 4-5-1 formation so that we could exploit the wings where spurs were very poor today Overall however, it's still early days and it's only a matter of time before we get our first win, and when that does happen, many more will follow COYRs
just woke up to see the result. reading this has put a smile on my face. watch west ham we are coming to get you.
Not much wrong with that. Agree with most of what you say. We played very well all game but for one bit of bad luck when Ale instinctively dived as he saw the ball heading for him suddenly and a very swift counterattack within 60 seconds. Pity. Ale was the MOTM up to that point. Glad to see Clint come back so strongly. Again. For my money he is twice the defender that Anton is. Do we know what the score is with Bosingwa? Particularly agree over the substitutions. What is going on with Cisse at the moment? he seems to have fallen out of favour which is a surprise considering his pre-season form. off to watch Downton with the old trout?
Just got home from the match and still mystified how we came away with nothing. We dominated from beggining to end. Overall we looked a quality outfit. The wins will come, keep the faith.
I think we looked more dangerous than you in the last 35 minutes and could and should have got 2 more goals...however up until then you made us look poor...and could have been 3 up at half time...defeat was very rough on you. Great to see Dyer back too.
This is correct . Ithink our heads went down a bit when the goals went in , understandably . Up until that point i think its as good as i've seen Rangers play , we were absolute quality all over the pitch .
I was in the spurs end in the first half we should have been 2/3 nill up Hughes would have shut up shop in 2nd half I think this post makes me a SENIOR membeer
First of all I want to say that we had a great game today. Things are looking good in spite of our league position. And we had some were against 3 out of the top 4 teams so the rest of the halfseason should be far better. Hoilett was a good suprise for me. He seemed very agile and fast player. Too bad he hesitated, he should have scored. Our defence was to slow to cope (hopefully it's a word) with their fast players on open field. Granero and Faurlin were very good. Granero was caught in possession few times and I believe he was the one who lost the ball before their second goal. You must know that he commits fouls very often, nothing too harsh but he will use his hands when necessary. Dyer played very well, but I really don't think SWP is a good player. Yes he is hard-working but he is a winger he should be able to do something good when we're in possession. Some teams have fullbacks with better attacking abilities. I really think if Faurlin didn't score that we would win but that goal changed a lot and gave them a big boost. And another thing AVB helped keeping Bale on LB which doesn't suit him at all. Looking forward to out next match. I think you should be able to understand me.
I can't fault any of them today. I thought we were absolutely superb in the first half, controlling the tempo of the game completely, passing it around delightfully, limiting them to a couple of poor shots from distance and 0-1 flattered them. For 15 minutes we still looked in control and then gave away a complete freak of a goal against the run of play. An excellent break a minute later, albeit with a huge, huge slice of luck required for it to fall to Defoe and then they hit us on the break when we pushed forward from there but the stats don't tell the true story of the game. We bossed it.
