The worrying sign is that we really didn't threaten a Leicester side that was clearly vulnerable. It's scary how much we lack going forward. Apart from Max and Wilson popping up with the odd bit of quality we have nothing. What pisses me off is that we clearly don't have the talent to play the ball out from the back and we have a target man in Joelinton, yet we look like conceding scrappy goals due to piss farting around in our own third every game. Ratings - Dubravka - 4.5 - Some decent commanding of the box early, but couldn't really do much about the goals Manquillo - 4 Lascelles - 3 - Unlucky with the pen but he did play the pass that set it all up. A shame because he started the match looking solid like he did last week. Schar - 3 - Made some runs into nothing and lost possession. Lewis - 4 ASM - 5 - Not a great game, but was still by far our best threat going forward. He had to do it all himself and put some decent balls in, much like against Burnley when we didn't create much, but ASM, despite being not his best, was by far our greatest threat. Willock - 2 - Don't understand what he offers us really. Consider dropping. He gives away so many crappy freekicks. Shelvey - 4 - Some decent passes at times, and good defensive work, but played his role in the **** ups. Almiron - 3 - I feel bad because technically he's out of position, but I wish people would stop defending this kid. He works his arse off, fair play, but he's piss poor in the final third. Whenever he has a chance to shoot, he needs an extra 1 or 2 touches, he dribbles himself into nothingness and gets shoved off the ball like a bitch. He's out of his depth. He makes some decent runs, but not good enough in the final third for this level. Joelinton - 4 - Showed some passion, tried, but couldn't really do much. Wilson - 4 - Anonymous due to no support. Murphy and Fraser - 2 - Did **** all. Ran and ran, but piss poor end product.
Almiron 3? Did you see what unfolded when he went off? Id swap scores with jonjo otherwise not far off my view. All ****e
Need to drop Willock and get Hayden back in the team. Willock doesn't score anymore and is just a waste of space.
And my nomination for the most ****ing depressing post of 2021 is this. Not a dig at you Charlie, just that this is the ****ing reality of the situation we're in.
Every Arsenal fan I know said it at the time. It’s ****ing dire. Having to watch this ****ing shower line up 442 is so depressing, regressive beyond anything I thought we’d do under a new manager. No steel or bite in midfield, ****ing awful defending, and I’ve still no ****ing idea what the plan was today. Anyone help me out? Was it counter? Higher press? Wing play? What the **** was suppose to be happening out there? 2/10 across the board. Howe 1/10.
It is becoming clear that the players are maybe not good enough. The jury is currently out on Howe. He’s making the same mistakes as Bruce was. Some of the players especially in midfield are terrible. Some can’t pass and move. Some can’t pass. And one in particular can’t move. It is very very worrying. And still no DoF.
DOF isn't happening at the minute like. Forget any ideas you have on that one just now. From reports its Mehrdad and Nickson speaking with agents. How true these are remains to be seen, but other reports I've read say there is confusion amongst agents on who they are even meant to make contact with. I wasn't taking the piss with what I said earlier, It is the worst squad assembly I can ever think of. We don't need 3 or 4 in Jan to get us over the line come May. We need at least 8 I reckon. Usually teams get to Jan and know which position is a priority to either get back up for or patch up. We need key players in just about every position and numerous players in some positions in the summer.
Pretty much agree except I'd swap Shelvey and Willocks marks. But meh, its arguing over the level of ****ness really. Very very poor from us after the dodgy pen. They were all roughly a 6 for me to that point, we stayed in the game against a good side, but then the levels just sank through the floor. Post half time was pretty pathetic and there was a dire lack of quality.
