Alittle bit early but im stuck at work on my first nightshift of the week so im trying to keep myself awake. My team to play Liverpool on Sat is... ..............Pickford........... Jones...Kone....Denayer....Pva. NDong........Kirchoff......Pienaar Anichibe....Defoe....Watmore. A good blend of youth and experience.
I'd play O'Shea in place of Denayer, put him in the midfield for Pienaar then bring him on for the Hoff when he gets tired after an hour or so.
I wouldnt play Kirchoff and Denayer togeather in midfield. I think Pienaar is important for us cause well be on the back foot most of the game so we need his ability to hold onto the ball and retain possesion.
Probably the team I'd go with as well. Anyone fancy an upset? I think we might be in for a spanking, I know Liverpool failed to score at the weekend but they generally score lots of goals.
I just think Kone will benefit more having JO playing next to him, Denayer has the younger legs in midfield along with N'Dong and let Hoff sit in front of the back four, let the younger lads do the tracking back etc. Hoff can hold the ball up and yes if he tires bring Pienaar on later in the game. Just a thought.
I just hope he sticks with the attacking options that we have had in the last two games and doesn't revert to all out defence with it being an in form Liverpool.
I'd be inclined to agree with this, the less changes to a winning side the better. Kirchhoff can be on the bench as a useful option. Just need to let the lads know that left midfield isn't an abstract concept, it's an actual place that it'd be nice if someone covered from time to time. A better side than Hull would have hammered us down there with the lack of organisation.
Like Cumbrian I think Oshea to organise Kone will get the nod. Having said that Denayer looked pretty comfortable in midfield at the weekend. Is nice to have choices again limited tho they are. Fabio isnt a certainty to get back in the team now so competition is returning and its a good feeling to have. If we get beat so be it. Its expected. If we sneak a point brilliant. If we win well Ive got a semi on just thinking about that.
I think we'll go Pickford Jones Kone O'Shea PVA Denayer McNair/Hoff Ndong Watmore Defoe Big Vic I think McNair will play ahead of Hoff if fit but his knee didn't look too clever. Hoff just Played a full game last night so doubt Moyes will want to start him unless he has to.
This is exactly what I'd do - probably prefer the hoff option personally but can't blame moyes if he sticks with mcnair after the weekend. Harsh to drop any player really after a 3-0 win.
Knee didn't look good though, any word yet on it? An option would be to drop Ndong back into McNair's position and bring Khazri in front of the defensive two. As much as I want the Hoff of last season, he's like glass so would prefer to manage him as such and give him a full week between games for the moment. Need to keep him injury free. So Pickford Jones Kone O'Shea PVA Denayer Ndong Khazri Watmore Defoe Big Vic I would be happy to go with that. It's very attacking away to Liverpool but lets face it, we can't defend against a barrage of attacking football for 90 minutes against anyone so might as well go for it and try and see more of the ball. Big Vic gives us a good chance of seeing more of the ball anyway. Khazri is big game player and puts in a defensive shift. Yeah, I'd be happy with that team. Lets get beat giving ourselves a chance for once.
---------------------Pickford------------------- Jones--------Kone----Oshea---------Pva --------Denayer-Kirchoff---Ndong------ Watmore------Anichebe-----Defoe--- Obvious the base positions of the front 3 change as the game goes from sequence to sequence. It's flexible to 4-4-2 or Denayer to drop into a back 3 and the full backs pushing up to a 3-5-2
