I feel our problem is we don't break quick enough. The whole game plan is to counter attack and we simply lack the cutting edge or bursting runs from midfield. When the ball gets to sess and laid off to our midfield there is no movement off the ball & by the time we get to the 18 yard area the opposition is back defending. While we are good defensively that's mainly down to the fact the whole midfield sit in front of the back four & defend for best part of the game. Yesterday I thought we passed it well first half but the passing & movement in the 18 yard area is dire. I'm sure this will come with time & a change in the odd player, like McLean, who I think should be used as an impact sub. Don't understand people getting on Colbacks back, yesterday he was our best player IMO. If we scrape a win against Boro & then villa then I think we can kick on from there. Had we won a game more possibley against reading then I think everyone would have been pleased with yesterday's result. It's simply the frustration of getting draws. Now this talk of sacking MON is ridiculous, & if it did happen soon then I think I would stop watching as its this sort of thing in the modern game that annoys me the most. Vent your frustration by all means but do it with some humor. Small changes are needed & most of that can be done from within our current squad, so no need to panic. KTF.
Couldn't have put it better myself. We have 3 home games in November where we should pick up home wins which should be the duck start to our season. I feel this season has been in limbo didn't even get that excited about the Mags game.
Like your optimism about the Reading game mate not so sure myself having watched them a few times. They look far more mobile and can attack at will, whereas we are rooted to our own 18 yard line.
