Pretty even first half. We looked much more organised and better player movement. I still don't think either Larsson or Colback are the answer to our midfield. I was surprised that Wigan were leaving their feet in at times. Not what I usually expect from them. I thought the ref was pretty lenient with them. Second half about the same, but once again our MF was our weak spot. Wigan coming through at will. Once again our solid defence did well. Couple of very good saves by Ming. Sess is looking more like himself each game. Another top class finish by Fletcher. The tackle on Rose? I thought yellow at the time still do. I was expecting us to go on to kill them off, but Wigan grafted hard and were still putting iffy tackles in. Larsson's tackle!!! I thought it was worse than Catt's tackle the other day, and he wasn't even spoken too, couldn't believe we ended up with a free kick from the scramble for the loose ball. Johnson clearly not fully match fit but showed glimmers of what is to come. Rose once again impressed both defensively and going forward. McC better all round play helped out by a great game from Rose. People are saying we need a player who can control the MF. We have him already he is playing at RB. When Bardsley returns, I can't wait for Gardner and Catts to be given a run in the central MF berths. Both have the energy and not giving up attitude I love, and imho read the game better than either Colback or Larsson.
Pretty much how I saw it as well mate, both Sess and JMc looked better yesterday which should bode well for us. Didn't play well sat back yet again but, managed the win that'll do for me.
Talc I would have loved us to score more goals, but the way things are going at the mo, I will quite happily take the win and a reasonable performance. Once everyone is fit and playing to their potential I can see our game changing radically. Be nice to see what a stable starting eleven who are used to each others quirks can do.
